Might sound like a dumb question
so I apologize in advance.
can you feed .38's in the DE?

load it heavy. light loads cause all kinds of grief.
get new springs, get the heavier ones for the 44/50.
only use OEM mags, the aftermarket ones are all junk.
Even if they did feed, they'd NEVER cycle the action. DE's love to be loaded very spicy. H110 is your friend, I don't think I've heard of anyone using successfully, anything you'd call a "target load," in a DE. Gotta get me one of the 44's some day.
ETA, no, it's not a dumb question. 38's work in 357 revolvers, so I can see where it came from.

At one time I think there used to be a replacement gas piston for 38. But that was first gen guns about 20 odd years ago.

Are DE's still prone as ever to limp-wristing?
This handgun has very limited philosophy of use (no, edc, no ccw, etc. etc. what I call a range cow) and therefore, I would not recommend or buy it. Great for an afternoon, but not something I would keep at $0.95 a round. My opinion.
