OK, got my GSG and it sure looks like the rear sight is stock. This is what it looks like:
This is what I should have expected, I believe, having paid extra for the STI Rear sight:
I do not see any adjustment here at all. Looks like I got stiffed.
3strokes, did you get yours yet? I tried to PM you.
If you were very specific that you wanted the addition and an installation of a fully adjustable (windage/elevation) rear-sight and you paid extra, then they should do the work and pay for shipping it back to them and back to you.
I would not even consider the stock rear-site as "windage adjustable".
Yes, you can unscrew it (thus unwedging it) and then move the site left or right, and screw/wedge it in again, but that's not practical.
As you may know, I bought my GSG1911 from DLask (who also did the trigger job) but when I asked around for a fully adjustable rear-sight, Gunnar of Armco was the first to respond. I was only able to shoot some 60 rounds this past Monday (3 relays) and it's too soon for me to say one way or another. In my case, it's the shooter not the gun, so I have to give myself time to learn the idiosyncrasies of this new gun before I start even thinking of fiddling with the sight. I'm also still trying it out with various Ammo. I find that some of the Remingtons are best left alone (I'm compiling a list for myself and it's way too soon to blame the ammo or gun+ammo combinations when I know, yes again, it's still the shooter.)
One word of caution. My old stock sight had the two yellow dots.
My fault. I forgot to mention to Gunnar to get one with yellow (or even white) dots.
So I tried painting two drops of bright (phosphorescent) yellow (kind of) dots. (I bought a full aerosol spray can, to use two drops at the end of a toothpick).
Not too bad, then I heard about nitesiters.com (where one can buy dots which are quite
easy to install, if you watch their video.) I ordered mine yesterday.
