I love my GSG 1911 in 22lr!!!

Likewise. You will probably have yours before mine so please post your impressions.. and pics :)

Hi. Strange. I recall answering this post above this morning, but with so much going on, I must have forgotten to "submit"

Anyway here goes. My 1911 has been with the Prince George Canada Post facility since the 9th at 1534. Finally delivered to Armco today at 17:59 (local BC I'd say). So Gunnar (I fervently hope, will set everything else aside and) will work on my 1911 and have it all done by end of day tomorrow and, dare I dream? ................

does anyone know what the height of the med front sight that comes with it. im looking for a fiber optic front sight and not sure of the size and brownells has so many listed?? thanks

You should really ask Blue Line (sponsors here). They're the official GSG representative in Canada.

Good stuff! :) Gunnar told me he had installed a STI Tactical sight and said it was perfect. Can't wait.

On your 1911 or on mine?
If it's perfect, I want it in my hands yesterday.
Actually this evening would be good.
My club has a handgun session tomorrow morning.
(Yes. I know. I'm dreaming, but I have faith in Gunnar.

LOL I'm assuming on both of ours eventually. Seems that is the make he is going with. Hang in there! As gun owners in this province we must become experts at waiting.

I installed STI Tactical adjustable rear sight on mine as well. I also put in the .200" FO front. However, I found that with .200" the gun was still shooting low at the bottom of the STI sight adjustment range (can't go lower because it starts hitting the slide). I mean, it is OK if you aim at 6o'clock but I prefer bulls-eye aiming like on all my other guns. I think I should have gotten the .240" FO front.

I would love to know what hight is the front sight that Gunnar is using. That is, I assume you're getting the front sight replaced as well...

If it shoots low, you want to lower your front sight (not elevate it from .200 to .240). Lowering your front sight, elevates you barrel and muzzle.

Thanks for the encouragement.

However I have exhausted all my waiting supply, waiting for H.M. (not His Majesty, but Hosni Mubarak) to get the Heck off his throne (his ruling one, not his commode. As far as I'm concerned, he can do a 180 in his commode and go for a swim or a meal.)
Sorry about this interlude but I'm still crying from the new good news.
My Mother, son, his wife and my two granddaughters are there (as well as family).

Sorry I meant to say it shoots too high - that's why I have to use 6 o'clock and not bulls-eye aiming.

No need to apologize.
If it shoots High, either lower the rear-sights, or raise the front-sight.
(Wait until I look at my cheat sheet).
Yeah, that's right.

Hey Guy's ,

So the STI Tactical adjustable rear sight fits in without any problems ? If so I have to to get one , the original rear sight are kind of small and strange to me . It's hard to get a fast sight picture . If I change the rear to STI do I have to change the front too?

Ogiku, STI is what Gunnar at Armco is putting on mine and had already tested on another (3Strokes perhaps? lol). In his words" perfect". Regarding the front sight, now that's a good question. I will ask him.

Cheers!

Tactical adjustable fits, but it DOES reguire fitting, .e. you have to file the slide a bit. Don't know what front side Gunnar is using, mine was a mini-dot from Brasos custom, and it also required fitting. The .200" mini-dot just barely clears the top of the slide.

Hi
Gunnar told me he's test-firing mine on Wednesday. I believe he's using one of the three original GSG front sights.

Ask if he can put in a FO front, makes a world of difference, IMO.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was vacillating but you pushed me over the edge. I just emailed Gunnar. I hope my sights (Front and Rear do not end up costing more than the gun ;)

I have new grips on the way (with front grip finger grooves).

Noooooooo! You're killing me! lol Is he going to do the FO front? I guess I will have to keep up with the joneses ;)

LOL I paid brazoscustom $119 for my STI Adjustable Rear and MiniDot FO Front shipped to the US. Saved a bit by installing these myself - however, a smith would have known to install a .240" front, not the .200" that I got.

I have just asked him by email. I hope he sees it before he goes to test-fire it tomorrow with the original front sights.

If not, then it's gonna be a longer delay.

However, to put your mind at ease (it's not good to infuriate a Sicilian :) I believe that there will be no more additions (no scopes, no red-dot laser or Crimson Target grips or shoulder stock or bipod rests.....)
