I want 1995 back!

.
It is too bad that they do not show the $399 U.S. M-1 Garands that came in from Denmark and were a non-cataloged item.

That would really drive you guys up a wall.

The description on the "p17s" is horrific. "popular model for customizing to sporters."

:bangHead:

those guns are more affordable to me today than in 1995.

so was it SIR that reamed the 1909's to 30-06?

The consumer price index has risen about 40% since 1995, and most of those prices have risen more than that, but several have not - but the rise has not been steady. I know that I paid "1995 prices" for many of those guns as recently as 6-7 years ago.

The best deal I can recall was late 1990's from Lever Arms when Garand "Three-packs" were less than $500.

Excellent condition firearms will almost always increase in value - "Shooter Grade", especially with Poor to Good bores will not.

Oh man! The Syrian mauser for 129! That would be great for me.

In 1995, I was an unemployed recent graduate. I bought one of these SIR Syrian mausers and with all that free time, turned it into a crappy sporter, that I would later give away for free.

How exactly is a Poor bore "shooter grade"? Give the exellent bores to shooters and when they are sewer pipes, the collectors can hang them on the wall.

I can remember back in the late 80's I was buying Mosin-Nagant M44's (Hungarian) for $29.99 each from S.I.R. I even bought a M91 for $19.99 with a date of 1899 on it, or go further back to 1973 when S.I.R. sold a Ruger Single Six for $109.95, or a Super Blackhawk. 44 Magnum for $189.50, or a Browning BL-22 for $99.95, or a Winchester model 94 standard for $107.95, man if I could go back in time…. does anyone have a idea what the antique revolvers prices were back in the day????????

I bought a 6.5 x 55 Mauser in 1990 for if I remember correctly 85.00. A German 8mm K98 was about 100 bucks and you couldn't give them away. I also purchased 5 Garands, two rebuilds and 3 originals from WW2 for 750.00 and figured I was being taken. Times have changed.

Now 6.5 Mauser's are going for 400-500. Piece of crap Russian capture cobbled together K98's are 500 up. Garands are about 700 and up for poor to average shooters. All the 12.6 pistols are now starting at 300 and up and you could get 3 for 200 for .38 spl's. Colt .45 ACP 1911's haven't really changed much in price, I new one then is about the same price as a good used one now. Reloading prices have skyrocketed over the same time frame.

Makes me sad, but not as sad as that Century Arms flyer from the early 90s with the $299 (restricted) FNs, short barreled handguns, AKs, etc.

My dad gave me a '96 Lebaron catalog that he found, M1 Garands were going for $259, and I think the regular SKS was maybe $79, and the SKS-D was maybe $120?
