I want a really nice .22! So what should I get?

ha ha I know, but thats not money. thats a mortgage payment. I really didn't know they got that high. Got to love newbs. Plus its just all the little extra things.

Like I said, it can become a $2000 .22 really fast.

I think the CZ is probably the best bang for the money if you want a bolt action.

What would be kind of nice is a Lyman peep-sight for the CZ...

I've never fired one, but I have had this exact discussion with lots of old shooters and the BRNO comes up a LOT. Not even sure if they still make them or whether its under CZ now?

Biggest dilema I have with a .22 is if you get a really nice one to shoot tight, that cheapo ammo we all love so much is probably is going to limit ya somewhat... then you end up coughing up for Lapua etc and kaplink I may as well just shoot my .17 (I'm biased cuz as a squirrel hunter I hate it when they get away! The SPLAT factor is in play here....)
Just my .02
I love .22's though! (esp pistols) I envy people that can take an old .22 and make n" groups at 100 yards. Wish I was that good.:p

am I weird if I say that I really don't want a scope on my .22

I like the challenge of open sights

+1 for open sights on .22 rimfire, but you still may be wierd.

In 1968 was when the entire line of brno rimfires and centerfires was transferred to CZ and Brno factory closed their doors April 2005. CZ and Brno were sister companies.

You can get a wealth of info on CZ and Brno from here!!! :D ...

I agree CZ 452 is the best for your money. The older ones have the classic look and shoot extremely well. I've had mine since 1971 and it shoots like a dream. The action is much smoother now. In your hands it feels like an expensive centerfire. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I have a Walther KKM target rifle. She is a single shot and I put a scope on. You can not get this kind of rifle anymore. My friend has a same one with a peep sight for competition. I am not a good shooter but I can get less than 1" group in 100 yd with this rifle. She is a safe queen right now because I have too many rifles.

Very Nice :D I was in lethbridge yesterday with the in-laws and was unable to get to Wholesale sports. We were shopping a Costco and I was torcher see it accross the street and not being able to get to it.
