I want an M-14 front sight.

Ah that makes sense, now that I read it again.
Springfield's stuff is for their M1A so no worries about exportation to Canada. I've ordered several things from them already incl. flash suppressors and sights

I'll see what the Springfields have to say. Those Americans often won't ship anything M-14 to Canuckistan (altho "M1A" could be a different story!).

I "want" my rifle to "shoot higher"-- That way I can lower my aperture from the stratospheric 19 clicks elevation to a more 'normal' ~7 clicks, and it won't be sitting above the level of its ears.

That's the idea, eh? I'm lowering my front sight so that I can lower my rear sight. If they both go a bit below their 'ears', then that's a bonus.
That's my theory, anyway.

Brownells would certainly NOT ship even M1A parts to me in Canada. I didn't think to try Springfield directly though.

They won't ship certain parts such as flash suppressors, but they will ship items such as springs, guide rods, bolt releases, mag releases, castle nuts, iron sights and the Boyds walnut stock (which is made for Springfield)

Brownells sent me the "faux selector switch" for my M-14, but I suppose that doesn't really count cos it's not usgi.
But WTF then? M1A is not usgi either!
