Okay Milsurp purists, just use the back arrow. I am talking about messing with an oldie.

Here is the rifle;
I have done nothing to this rifle other than clean it (not too hard). As you can see, the rifle is in rough shape. The furniture is much worse than the pictures display. The other side would show large cracks and splits. The wood has numerous gouges too.
It's a Finn capture, and by looking at the last picture you can tell it is a little uncommon. I really have no idea how uncommon, or rare it is. I assume it's not that special. (Really, what do I know?)
So, the dilema. I want to sporterize a Mosin Nagant. Other than a completely refinished Polish M44, this is the only other MN I have. It seems that it would be a perfect sporter for me. I made up some 180 grain loads for it, and found that it shoots M.O.A. It's accuracy really blew me away. It had me thinking that it would be a great project rifle.
I plan on sporterizing a MN some day. I am just thinking that this one just may be the one to use. I didn't spend alot acquring it, and don't feel like spending $150 - $250 on another rifle, just to find it doesn't shot as well as this one. Even $125 seems high.
Hmmm....
Kill Larry the Lobster, or save Larry the Lobster?
