I want to mount optic on my CZ 452

If you want J and P products, you can order directly from them. they ship to Canada and are very nice people. Find their adds on rimfirecentral forum.

I use J&P adapters with Burris Sign. rings and VX2 6-18X40 AO on my Silhouette. The set up works fine and provides extra barrel clearance while using 40 mm AO scopes. In the future I will opt for Burris Signature Rimfire & Airgun Rings in med. (420554) that work with 11MM rail and therefore no need for adaptors. They fit well with 40 mm AO Leupold scopes, I am just not sure if they will clear your Varmint barrel (you would have to do the math). I would try to avoid adaptors or rails if possible.

I didn't see where the chambering was listed for the OP's 452 Varmint...

The LR model has an 11mm rail, the WMR and HMR have a 3/8" rail.

I use both, the DIP rail and Leupold Rings on mine;

I don't really trust those Signature Rimfire rings to be honest with you. Maybe they are good but they look a bit weak.
I will have the scope this week so I can check the clearance with gauge-blocks.

Yeah thanks Gilbert !

Its a 452 Varmint in .22lr ( 11mm ).

I think I will buy the J&P adapters with signature-zee-rings.
Will decide tomorrow...

BTW nice rifles ! Mine is not ugly too... ;)

I have a EGW rail on my 452. I got a 20moa and use it with lerue 2 piece quick detach rings that way I can swap out my high power scope between my 22 and long range rifle... The 452 is a great trainer rifle to get out and fire off a bunch of rounds,
Before this current setup I used burris rings. I really like the bushing system which I also used in 20moa and with these rings you should never get ring marks on your scope

I updated my first post, I will be using a 1 inch Redfield Revolution 3-9X40 scope...
Your 30mm Vortex rings are made for 11mm dovetail ?

I never used Leupold rings but its Leupold so it have to be good.
I have several Burris rings, mostly Zee rings Signature and they are well made.

Where did you bought your CZ rings ?

ProLine Shooters and Barber Shop here in Calgary. Yes, a combination gun store and old school barber exists. It is a magical place.

You can't quite tell from the angle of this pic, but the nice thing about the CZ rings is that they placed the 33mm objective lens almost exactly one hair higher than the rear sight, which prevented me from having to remove it. Rock solid. They might be a bit high if you want to remove the rear sight and get "right on the barrel" with your glass, or a bit low if you're using a 40mm obj. lens. The glass is Leupold, FWIW.

So today, I ordered :

- J&P adapters ( I ordered 2 extra set to recover that 26 U$D intl. shipping cost )

- DIP hex screw kit
- DIP aluminium magwell
- DIP extended mag release
- DIP trigger shoe

Intl. shipping is 11 U$D for all the DIP product at http://kinneysshootingsupply.com/

I already have a set of spare *high* signature zee rings at home.

Now the waiting...

I begin to receive parts for my 452.

I thought I had a set of high zee-sign rings but they are medium... I will have to order another set.
I should have the scope this week so I will double check the height.

Where do you usually order your Burris scope rings ? Last time I ordered them from Cabela's...

I used Sun Optics Sporter low rings on my 455 with a Bushnell Elite 4-16x28.

(The clearance on the front of the scope to the barrel is 3.5mm.)

I should have mentioned that with the DIP rail and medium rings on my 452 FS, my 40mm scope clears the rear sight, and when the QD rings are removed, I have a full and clear vision of the iron sights... just in case... that gun is often being dragged through bunny brush.

Hoyt,
I'd like to copy that same setup on my CZ 452 Trainer so I can use the iron sights as well.
Got a part number for those Leupold QD's?
Thanks.

PS..is the top one a Trainer or Ultra?

Both have extended mag release as well. That is one of the best mods I have done

Awesome pics and scope setups guys !

The DIP rail is very nice and I like it because its low. I just don't like those set-screws on the receiver.

The rings are Dura Sight Z2 QD's... awesome rings. PM inbound.

Never had mine make really bad on one cz there was a tiny mark form the screw. You only tighten them to 5 inch pounds. Mine all fit really tight as well had to rubber hammer them in place lol. Haven't taken the rails off those 2 pictured so no idea what its like under them but I highly doubt any significant marks. The one on the hmr hasn't moved in 2 years or so I have had it and the 22lr hasn't moved in a year or so that I have had it

I've had DIP rails come loose on 3 of my CZs. Granted, two of them had very large optics attached and none of them were secured with blue loctite. Took them off and 1 of the 3 had marred the receiver. I've never needed any force to slide them on the dovetail. The marring on the one was no big deal. Those CZs are mine for life anyways. Tightened them back down to 8 foot pounds (or is it inch pounds?) with some blue locktite, and they have been solid ever since.

Thanks,
Cal.
