I was ready to buy...

The OP is worried about giving up a $1500 handgun sometime in the future. Anyone who has ever bought a new vehicle is happy to give up $10s of $Ks. Perspective.

This is an excellent point!

If depreciation is all one stands to lose; no big deal. If that 1500 dollar pistol overnight becomes a 300 dollar prohib; that sucks ass big time.

sell all your guns now they may become obsolete.

for us we continue to enjoy and shoot them while we can.

life is not all the time just about money.

On my list is a new or minty Colt Commander .45 and the only thing holding me back are bills.
I’ve been a gun owner for close to forty years and my ability to own my property has been threatened for almost all those years.
I’d say with the exception of the Harper years where I didn’t feel like a sword was hanging over my head every minute for being a law abiding responsible gun owner I’ve always felt under the gun, pun intended.
I realize no one wants to waste hard earned money but if we stop spending available funds on guns and related merchandise we’ll be dooming the retail gun industry in Canada without the Liberals and the other assorted antis having to lift a finger.
So I’m begging all gun owners to keep the faith and continue to support the community.

Every person is different. I’ve got all the guns I ever want or wanted and more.

What I need and want is more time to shoot. At my age, I should be retired but am not. I also got two other time consuming but very absorbing hobbies, music and RC model flying. Well, three if you count motorcycles. So given only 24 hrs in a day, add a needy wife and 5 grandkids, who really needs more guns?

Between 3 safes, I can arm the entire family and more, including New York reloads. Lol!

And I added my best pieces in recent months too. Damn the election results. But I’m not buying any new pieces anymore. Just primers, powder and lead (or campro or Berry’s heads).

What we need to do is convince more people to get into shooting restricted, as well getting them to buy restricteds. Heck, I’m willing to transfer some of my restricteds into a licensed relative’s or friend’s name.

While I appreciate sarcasm, it seems everyone else is made of money and can afford to gamble. If anyone thinks they are going to send a message buy buying more, a lot of people bought or built ARs; boy did that have a great effect.

I'm not saying I won't buy used; but until there is more stability, I am not going to spend $1000.00-15,000.00 on a nice, new revolver that in a few months might be worth SFA. If it plays out the way it looks it might, I have already put too many eggs in my pending retirement hobby's basket.

And BTW, I do shoot a lot; likely more than anyone else at our club; and very little of it is .22.

Why would you only buy a gun thinking it is a savings bond?

Do you have a TV? Is it worth the same today as when you bought it? What will you do when it eventually breaks?

Buy the gun you want. Enjoy it. If eventually you cannot have it anymore, consider it broken and go buy a new TV.

How many TVs does a person need? I already have a tv in almost every room in the house. I probably have enough guns for every corner of every room.

I will for sure be selling off a bunch of my guns..... To fund the purchase of new guns! This does not change anything for me. Life is short, you can't take it with you.
