I will no longer be willing to purchase a used rifle online unless the seller is prepared to do the following:

1.) Fully disclose any and all damage or problems. Offered price will be in accordance with the accuracy of the disclosure and nature of declared problems.

2.) Allow thorough inspection of rifle. This inspection will involve removal of stock. Payment will be submitted upon satisfactory inspection. Rifles that fail the inspection will be returned at owner's expense.

you should adjust the title and take out the unless..

"I will no longer purchse a used rifle online"

or at least very very very few...not many will sell to you I don't suspect with those prerequisites

Good luck with that. No one is going to send you a rifle before you pay for it. You're not special, no one is going to give you special treatment. There are plenty of other buyers who don't have idiotic "rules" for buying guns.

Not a fricken chance with me pal and I would think 99% of others on this board. This is what a trader rating is for. I wish you luck in your future endeavors in the EE. Anyone want to register and send Toomanyguns your firearm without payment? Oh and he'll take it apart too and send it back to you in peices LMAO!!!

well, if you have already initiated the transfer, you have his name.... wouldnt it be fairly easy to track him down at that point? I only wish more online trades could work that way... In person or not at all for anything mechanical for me...

Buying online isn't for everyone. For people who want to work the way you and Toomanyguns want they should stick to IN PERSON transactions.

Ask for as many pics as you need and ask many questions as you can. Most people will give you honest answers and spend the time and effort answering them in a timely fashion. You can usually tell the guy that's trying to pass you a fast one.

Toomanyguns, so what's your beef specifically about?

I have offered, and have been offered, inspection privileges. This is for serious purchases.
I would never expect that payment would be conditional on inspection.
If the buyer elects to return, buyer pays return shipping, refund is less inbound shipping.
The folks with whom I have done business are prepared to stand behind what they have sold.
Someone sells trash, didn't mention the bent barrel, whatever, and won't come to a mutually satisfactory arrangement - that's what feedback is for.
Of course there are "as is, where is" deals. No problem with that, either.
Basiclly, good communications are critical. Know who you are dealing with, and what you are dealing for.

Toomanyguns, Send me your Neiska 338 Lapua, if It is up to my standards I will send you $7500...if not, you can EMT me $40 so I can ship it back to you.

Pay by check or money order, write subject to 7/15/30 day inspection along with for deposit only on the back. legally if they sign/deposit it is considered a contract
