I would like to know what your absolute favorite firearm you own is.

I have a custom 700 Mountain Rifle in 257Roberts. Very accurate and consistant. With a TI stock and VXIII 2.5x8, it makes a nice package. It has taken 3 deer for me so far.

Out of the 75-80 firearms that I have owned, my favorite would be my wifes Grandfathers saddle gun. A 1924 model 94 saddle ring carbine in 32 special, all origional and in very good condition IMO. The stories and history that came along with this rifle, told to me by the original owner, will stay fresh in my mind forever.

For some reason this one just pulls me in every time I look at it. There are a few more beauties that will be coming my way in the next few years, but this one will probably always be my favorite.

These days it is my Tikka 412S.
It's the most versatile gun I own.
9.3X74R O/U barrels, with a peep sight plus a quick detachable ( and repeatable) scope mount with a 4X IOR scope.
It also has a set of O/U 12 gauge barrels with removable chokes, and a set of Briley tubes in 28 gauge.
it is accurate, with any of the combinations, and it all breaks doen in a hard case.
Cocking indicators behind the safety ( whish is NOT an auto safety), and a barrel selector right on the trigger.

It may be a tad heavy for some , abnout a pound heavier than a Red label field gun, but that's okay by me, as it is very easy to shoot, and i can carry it all day with no problem.

The rifle barrels, BTW, are built by Morrochi.....

Right now I'd have to say my Remington 870 12ga is my favorite.

If I want to detach a retina, I load in 3" slugs. If I want to enjoy a relaxing afternoon busting clays without pounding the sh*t out of myself, I can. If I want to destroy stuff, I can, all while choosing the level of destruction I desire by carefully choosing the fuel .

For the versatility, the satisfying sound of racking the action, the manly proportions of it, and it's rugged good looks, it definitely wins hands down so far in my meager collection.

+1 on the 870. My 870 Marine Magnum is my favourite gun, although my Lyman Great Plains Hunter flintlock in .50 is up there too.

Tough one.....
I'll say my 1914 ShtLE 303/25.
It's a beater in no uncertain terms and its performance is fairly pedestrian, even compared to a 250 Savage.
But I can take it to the range and turn heads.
It can group 3 shots MOA at 100m and managed to group around 1.5 MOA at 200m.
Best of all though, it just knocks those roos for six.
It's just as ugly as me but shoots a whole lot better.......just as well! :D
Here's a pic of the old girl:

Has to be my 700 "Classic" in 8x57 at present. Gorgeous stock, accurate and plenty of oomph for North American Game. Right on it's heels is my P-H Safari Deluxe in 308 Norma Mag. But I really have many "favorites" It depends what I happen to be carrying at the time! Regards, Eagleye.

For many people it's got to be the gun that has two things ... something cool about it just as a gun, and second, some attachment to some other person or time.

For me it's my Mossberg bolt action .410. It's a sweet gun for partridge plus it's got a connection to my grandfather who used it to control all sorts of critters around the "cottage". Everytime I pick it up I admire its lines and weight. And everytime I pick it up I remember my grandfather, a WW1 vet who knew his way around guns but would never talk about "the war".

Has to be my Yugo 59/66 SKS. She was my first firearm, and unless I end up having kids (getting less likely as the years tick by) I'll be buried with her. A close second would be my Norinco JW-14 which my then girlfriend gave me (the one and only time I ever got a firearm as a gift). Ya'll can fight over the others.

My Merkel 211E combo set, 16 ga. over 7x57R with 4x Hensoldt scope in claw mounts, and second set of barrels 16/16, 28" w/fine game scene engraving, all in a fitted case.
Exotic, pretty, versatile, accurate, traditional, handy & cool!

I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

My personal favorite: Smith & Wesson Model 29-2

Holley cow I had to reall put some thought into this one, with the criteria,
But i suppose it would have to be the man that taught me and introduced me into the world of guns, hunting and shooting, he carried as his deer rifle a 308 99C with a 1.5x5 VX on it. I have shot a deer with it on the Stand which he shot one of his last on.
Thank you to my Grandfather for passing this rifle on to me!

Not a pretty rifle, well used and scared, not as accurate as i am used to but plan and simple t means the most to me!
