You ask, what the hell is ICLC 2009 :)
Together with my IPSC friends from Poland we came with an idea of correspondence competitions playedaccording to IPSC rules. We have selected 6 stages, which are CLC stages, to shoot over winter months in countries that have similar weather conditions and shooters have difficulty to practice outdoor.
They are simple and easy to set indoor. Purpose of this is to compare our skills to shooters over in different countries. My colleagues in Poland are contacting shooters in Slovakia, Czech Republic and Lithuania, so there could be a vast number of competitors to see where we stand our self. CLC stages may sound like boring practice here, but in Europe are used quiet often even in Level III matches.
This is first year, we launching something new so please be patient. There will be a website for scores and we will play according to all safety rules in our sport.

Please check the website for details.
If any questions, please free to send me email or pm.

Guys, this is a good chance to check yours skills against other shooters without trouble of paying for airfare and hotels.

Storm,
I think it will be a good idea to host a match with all 6 stages and give everyone chance to shoot all stages at once and have fun.

While I think this would be fun and a great learning experience it'll require a group to get together, talk over the who, what and where and then prepare before anything like this could be run. In effect it'll require the same local clubs to host and organize it with the only real difference being that the scores are then posted to a central point. And to do all this will take some time.

However if it helps I'd be interested in helping get this going in the lower mainland.

Is this right or am I missing something?

The only problem, at least in Ontario is that most people don't want to know how they stack up against shooters outside of ontario, and our classification system supports the feeling. So why set up a match where they have their scores go against shooters from another country?

Well if you want to make it really complicated I guess you can look at it that way.

As a BARE MINIMUM it requires a total of THREE shooters to get organized and come up with a team name and enter.

(Heck myself and my two kids could make a team if my daughter were not at School).

Then those same three people have to get together and go shooting. Setting up the stages is as easy as pie so that is not an issue.

I plan on setting them up at EESA's Practice nights...........it actually makes things easier for it as it gives us a set thing to do and to work on.

Baring that one could just have the three shooters meet up for a single saturday and put the stages together and shoot them.

It will be a great distraction from the winter doldrums.

Ah, I see. It's on the honor system of the folks doing the shooting rather than having all the "cast of thousands" to run the stuff. That would change things then and make it a lot more doable by more folks far more easily.

Does that mean I have an email on the way from you volunteering to participate in the Classifiction review?

You don't need to make a team to participate - you can submit individual score.
It's just these guys want to do scoring both individually and by team.

Hey, was a great time.Awesome meeting a couple of other dedicated shooters. Now if I could just figure this Alias thing out, LOL

Even got a couple of other people, that just happened to be at the range interested in a shooting sport! How fun was that!
