TRW Bolt
Winchester Barrel
Springfield Trigger Group
HRA Op Rod
Sights look brand new

Told Wolverine I did not care about the stock. I got a really bad one haha.

Anybody got sleeves for the barrel ? I got a vice and a wrench. It seems like my garand stuff is a touch too big.

My kit came in the mail today. Now to decide if I should go wood or use the Israeli stock, it's kind of a mess. Leaning towards getting a Boyds.

Nov. 62 Winchester barrel, looks mint for a 55 year old surplus barrel.
Winchester Bolt (EE marked)
TRW Op rod
H&R Trigger group & Hammer.

Any other parts that would have mfg codes?

USGI Parts with markings include;

Bolt
Barrel
Op rod
Trigger housing
Hammer
Safety
Trigger guard ( KMT only )
Rear Sight base ( For the most part )
Elevation Drum
Windage Knob
Op rod spring guide ( KMT only)
Buttplate (KMT only )
Barrel Band ( H&R only )
Gas Cylinder ( H&R only )

You may have to take apart the trigger group to see if the safety is marked

*KMT is Killeen Machine Tool a sub contractor for Winchester and in general made replacement parts

The rear sight base isn't marked unless it's a national match sight, and then it's not marked by manufacturer. That stated, you can tell a TRW rear sight base by the difference in the metal and the machining once you've inspected a few of their other parts.

All M14 H&R rear sight bases are marked on the bottom of the sight base. And Winchester marked theirs OM-B and a number. H&R never produced factory NM rifles. But yes there is a slight difference between TRW sight bases and the other manufacturers.

Doesn't help your no marking but I thought this was cool:

SAK/Saco-Lowell produced M14 parts that were considered some of the best military contract parts manufactured. They made National Match barrels during the 70s and 80s and high quality replacement parts. When the National Guard MTU was making up heavy match barrels for their M14s they specified that the machinists were to use SAK barrels as examples when setting up their machining procedures. SAK barrels were always right on the money dimentionally. The op rods were welded to join the tube to the handle, but I have never seen an SAK op rod fail at the weld. I consider them as good or better than TRW one piece op rods.

Wow! That is interesting! Not a single clue who made that one, there doesn't seem to even be a trace of a marking what so ever. Only thing I can think of is maybe the original stamping was very light and at some point the op rod was refinished and the stamping was sand blasted away. It's possible that it could be a Norc or Poly, how it made its way to Israel is anyone's guess

Very nice kits everyone if you have not please add you kit into the database, 33 rifles so far allows us to have a good overview of distribution. (I will post results soon)

https://goo.gl/forms/JYWVeGtdYbJRFKB62

My Nimrod scope came in, I noticed the Reticle and elevation knob is for M852 match ammo, So that answers what load was used in these rifles. I am going to start reloading it

Load date according to Lake City,

168 grain Sierra MatchKing HPBT
42 grains IMR 4895
Lake City Case (or Match grade equivalent)
Large Rifle Primer
OAL 2.830 inches.

Anyone have surplus or thoughts on this load?
