I'm still confused as to what makes IDPA so special... IPSC lets you shoot at any level you want with just about any equipment you want. And pretty much any way you want (as long as its safe).
You don't need to be a gamer, you don't need to drop your mags if you don't want. Just because most choose to do that doesn't mean you have to when you shoot IPSC. You don't even have to do the walkthoughs if you don't want.
Based on my admittely limited knowledge, about the only thing IDPA does that I think you'd actually be prohibited from doing under IPSC rules is drawing from concealed.
Can someone enlighten me if I've completely missed the boat here.
Cost is not significantly different... Even an IDPA legal pistol can cost $2500, and a $350 pistol is perfectly capable of meeting all the IPSC requirements.
