IDPA Holster

I intend in getting in IPSC or IDPA probably more in IDPA. I am now looking for a holster to go whit this. I intended at the beginning to get a drop leg, but after reading IDPA rules that won't do the job. That mean I need a hip holster.

A little hand in explaining me that rule would be appreciated
 
I am willing to spend what it take to have a good holster I am assuming 100$ can I will cal wolverine they carry fobus
 
You can call most of the listed dealers above. Josko at Double Tap Sports usually has a good inventory of Blade Tech and he is a great guy to deal with. If he does not have it, he will get it for you.
 
Many or most fobus holsters are far too tight out of the box, and they can't be adjusted.

The "hot" brands are Blade-Tech, Comp-Tac and Raven Concealment. Paddle holsters are to be avoided: I've seen too many come off the belt with the gun.

Check the rules for holster compliance. For example, the
Blade-Tech DOH is not compliant, while the SRB is.
 
I read that the holster rules don't applies for military member I am in the military but won't participate in uniform, anny one have an idea how that rules aplies to me?

that mean I can't wera a drop leg since I am not using a BHP.

Will probably get a fobus, I am starting anny way so no point in breaking the piggy bank, I rather buy more ammo :)
 
Holster exception:

Exception – Police or military officers may use their duty rig, but
ALL retention features of the holster MUST be used and all belt
equipment (mace, handcuffs, etc.) must be present.

Actually the Blade-Tech DOH can be compliant with the rules for IDPA. The DOH is actually the same as the SRB with the added bracket to drop and offset the holster. Pop out a couple screws, take off the bracket, screw the belt loop to the holster, voila, you just turned a DOH into an SRB.

exactly what i did , and your 100% right it works great.
 
I too am going to suggest staying away from the Forbus Line. While I do have one and use it, I had to Dremel the crap out of it, to get it to work even half way decently. I use it for IDPA only. I have the DOH from BladeTech, and while I could take it apart, and use it for IDPA, I tend to just leave it attached to my IPSC belt. If you want to go for a cheaper holster, go with an Uncle Mikes, but my first recommendation is the DOH.
 
Blade Tech and Comp Tec are the two you see the most of. Forbus not so good and Uncle MIkes, while they are OK are not in the same league as the first two mentioned.

Steveo is bang on with his comment about Forbus. Nothing ruins a great day at a match faster than a crappy holster.

Uncle Mikes Kydex holsters are generally not IDPA rules compliant, make sure you check the rules to see what works.

I have Fobus and Blade Tech, Blade Tech is superior but about 2-3x the cost. A Hi-Power may fit securely in a 1911 holster - the injection molded Blade Techs (or 5.11 Blade Techs) will be comparable in cost to a Fobus.

The Uncle Mikes Kydex paddle is IDPA Legal, the belt holster is not. For the money this is a great holster. My buddy bought one at Epps on Saturday for $18.99 new, pretty hard to beat, just to shoot IDPA with.
