At our club swap meet today, I was promoting IDPA. Some were new converts, others were IPSC 'burnouts'. They were delighted to hear that their out-of-date BB course would get them accepted after the IDPA 'new shooter orientation'. I've never seen a shooting sport so quickly embraced before. It was quite surprising to see the level of interest.
Both encouraging and surprising.
IPSC is languishing, not having attracted any more participants after the initial 16 were Black badge qualified, less than half of them still active members.
frankly as an experienced *dpa shooter and someone who has completed the black badge twice, is it any wonder..... idpa is inviting and forgiving, ipsc's model is intimidation and disqualification.
