And I suppose you get your groceries in the USA too?
[...]OK maybe a bit over the top, but we are at a critical point ... pull together or loose it all bit by bit!
If it was half the price, twice as reliable, and quicker/easier (one web-based order form, credit-card payment ), then I would.
The last match I ran nearly had no targets, because the Canadian supplier I was dealing with became non-communicative after stumbling around about delivery dates.
With most Canadian suppliers, I have to make a good number of phone calls, hoping for a return message (because there is usually no-one on the phone) just to establish price, availability, shipping and payment options. Quite often the return message never comes and emails go unanswered. There are exceptions (Hirsch Precision, TSE, and so on), but this is a typical experience in my books.
For exampe, take your website. There is no listed price. There is apparently no online ordering. You don't have any card logos, so likely don't take them. In and of itself that's not a show-stopper, but there is no indication of what type of payment you do take. Regarding price, most likely - and I'd be happy to be proved wrong - you're asking about $1/target, which is well in excess of the Target Barn cost. If I am wrong, why is the price not on the site, requiring me, and every other potential customer, to take extra steps just to establish it?
As for supporting Canadian business simply to support them - the "critical point" - you've used the same argument that Glock retailers and distributors used in Canada for a good long time - until Questar showed them up and forced the distribution chain to improve. Prices are now much lower.
Show me a moderately priced, easy-to-order, usually-in-stock cardboard target supplier in Canada and I'll gladly use it, 'official' or otherwise.
Starting with Jarlath's original question, "Where is the best place in Canada to purchase IDPA targets?", as far as I know the answer is "from your Canadian keyboard with your Canadian credit card".
