IDPA-- What are you shooting??

I'm running a Gold Cup NM .45ACP so I automatically fall into CDP. I'm using a an old Uncle Mikes duty holster and mag pouches my dad had. I'll be getting new leather ones soon just need to come up with the cash.

As for bullets: a light load for 230gr Semi wadcutter.

I thought that IDPA was for stock pistols? I am looking at getting into IDPA mainly in part because IPSC is an "arms race" where the competition lies with how much $$$$ you have to trick out your gun or buy the best possible/newest lead thrower. These 'mods" to the CZ seem to be the first step down a slippery slope...

I was looking forward to taking my "stock, plain jane" P99 and at least not feeling the pauper or out of place.

It is. Legal modifications are set out in the rule book for each division. Changing the grips and a non-functioning part made by CZ for the 75B of which the SP-01 Shadow is considered a variant, is hardly moving down a slippery slope.

Your plain jane "P99" will do well is SSP Division or at least as well as you can shoot it. It always is the archer not the arrow. As an aside I shot my best Classifier with my Norinco 1911 in .45acp. You will find every kid of gun under the sun at our matches.

LOL, maybe....I really like the look of Ken's 625....a couple other guys I know shoot it as well.

I'll still probably do SSP this year, great lakes regional for sure and probably the Ontario championship as well.

I'm just about to join the fun.

I'll be shooting SSP with a CZ 75 in a home made leather pancake holster and home made kydex mag pouches.

And possibly CDP with my Tanfoglio 1911 and home made holster and magazine pouches for that as well.
