If I sell my useless SR-22, I could hit a 2000$ mark (with my hubby's help).
I am more and more leaning toward .45. Clearly, this is a caliber of choice when it comes to a quality 1911 and you get more variety to choose from. I have some time to kill and was browsing 1911 forums. Almost none of the guns I liked come in 9mm. On the other hand if I go with H&K, I am not sure what caliber that will be.

This .45 is in the EE (dannyair, not me), thought it about it personally but wife had a different idea (which also involved a 1911).

Hard to go wrong with STI Spartan / Trojan / Ranger II from Armco.

Can be had in several calibers,

Mind you "###iest" can also mean a heap of money. How much is your budget for this?

If you like 1911's in particular do you like the dark ones or shiney stainless options? If shiney sounds good then the Springfield Loaded model should stir the fires of passion for you.
