###iest handgun for a girl

AWOL AND ACM you both hurt my glocks feelings. I don't like how sigs and the beretta m92 and 92fs looks. I love how my gen 4 g17 looks. Maybe i am wierd and even a little crazy but i prefer the looks of my gen 4 g17 over most hand guns EXCEPT 1911s and some revolvers.

But AWOL is right beauty if int he eyes of the beer holder or beholder lol.

I'm just messin with ya... ;) There's nothing wrong with a glock. Lot's of better shooter's than I prefer Glock. I will however, exercise my rights, at every opportunity, to tease anyone who likes Glock and the Leafs...:bump:

My vote would go to a 1911 but with some specifics. I don't like lots of make up on a woman or too much bling. To me that eliminates some of the popular brands particularly those with "billboard" slides. I like understated elegance. This is my NightHawk; not within the budget but you will get the idea.

Nice gun if it wasnt bobed and didnt have adjustable target sights.......

If I had an unlimited budget, I would go with Virgil Tripp custom 1911. Speaking of true elegance.

There are a few outstanding people out there. Save your pennies and take a look at Heirloom Precision and Luke Volkman. One of the reasons I went with NightHawk was their outstanding customer service and their flexibility. They will do just about anything you want and will use whatever parts you specify as long as they are top quality. I put about $800 of options on that gun and would do a few things differently for the next one if my manager didn't think I have enough guns. Some women have very weird values :) Since you aren't a shooting noobie, you probably know there is nothing to fear from the right end of a 45 ACP. I've never found the .45 to be unpleasant to shoot. Think about what you will want to do with the gun before you commit. If you see yourself shooting IPSC or IDPA those sports have a definite influence over the choice of pistol and the caliber. I have two SIG's including and X-Five in DA/SA and now the SAO 1911 so I have a choice when it comes to the IPSC division I want to shoot in. There are a lot of factors besides appearance but you know that. Look into the equipment rules in the shooting sports if you think you might want to give that sort of thing a try. IPSC is sooooo much fun and the ladies do very well at the game. My club is always looking for new shooters.

I dont really like the leafs either.

But OP, i suggest you listen to most of the people here and get a 1911. The are slim, ###y and you can customize the #### out of them. If you don't know if you would like the 1911 platform i suggest either borrowing a 1911 and trying it out or buying a used norc and trying it out before committing some serious dough on a nicer 1911. Everyone has different tastes and you might not like the 1911 platform

I hear you. Great post. My thoughts exactly. I had the pleasure and the honour to shoot from two Virgil guns (1911 in .45 of course). The owner only allowed one mag through each but, man, it left unforgetable impression. I hate to say it but I do have second thoughts regarding 1911 choice of mine. I will take my time (and will save more money meanwhile, lol :)) before I commit but something tells me that at the end of the day it will be the custom 1911 that is done to my specs.
ps I however have no doubts in my 9mm choice. I am going for H&K P30L.

any gun is ###y if a ###y girl is shooting it. even my generic utilitarian glock looks hot in a hot chick's hand (if she knows how to shoot).

I liken it to this: have you ever met a hot chick at the bar, then when she opened up her mouth, her breathe smelt like dead rat because she smokes. That just takes the ###iness away.

Same with a gun. If the gun is all shiny nickel, gold plated, whatever, but the ###y shoots like poo, it takes the ###y away.

I think the HK P30 is a very good choice. Particularly in 9mm.

The TRP may be a bit too much gun for woman. Those front strap serrations are rather aggressive on that gun and weighs close to 40 ounces dry, without mag or ammo.
