I want a handgun for Christmas. I want it to be the ###iest handgun I can afford. "###iest" pretty much takes Glock, Sig, CZ and Beretta out of the equation for me. I also want it to be super reliable, easy to strip, easy to clean, with great customer service to support it and with tons of accessories. As far as caliber is concerned - either 9mm or .45ACP. Thoughts?

If you feel like reading, here are my thoughts behind this purchase:
Originally I wanted to buy a carbine in pistol caliber - it was b/w H&K USC and Beretta Storm for me. But then I thought that for this kind of money I can get a handgun. I believe that both - the carbine in pistol caliber and the handgun - are used for the CQB and have more or less the same effective range but a handgun is lighter and easier to draw. Also, a handgun is quicker to pack when I have limited time to go to the range after work. With rifles and carbines I like to take my time and I usually will spend 4-5 hours in the range with it. However, I don't always have that kind of free time and I postpone the range visits until I do. With handgun, I think I will be able to go to the range more often.

Thank you,

1911 STI of any flavor. The Trojan with a magwell and black grips is hot;) 9mm or 45- your choice.

Uuuu, me likes! I think they have STI in one of the ranges here. I am going to give it a test drive! :)

This is what you meant, right? (Haha, we posted at the same time :))

I wonder who sells them and for how much?

The ###iest handgun in my mind is the Taurus 24/7 in OD Green with the Tenifer finish:

I've done a fair bit of reading, and while you don't see them mentioned very often, I've read very good things about this weapon and the Taurus brand in general. They have some of the most advanced machining processes around and often make parts for more expensive manufacturers because of the quality & tolerances they can produce in large scale. They are one of the 2 firearm companies in the world to receive the ISO 9001 designation for superior manufacturing and marketing practices. To say nothing of their knack for building one ###y sidearm.

Obviously they make several other models, but this is my favorite by far.

Hope this helps you make your decision.

Your nuts if you think the cz75 and beretta 92fs aren't ###y. No amount of forum advise can help you. You obviously need therapy.

To all the guys touting 1911:
She specified easy to strip and easy to clean. I know the 1911 isn't THAT difficult, but compared to the majority of others, it ain't EASY.

Haha, my husband thinks I need a therapy since I've got my RPAL, lol! This is not new! :D

A 1911 is easy enough for anyone and very much a shooters pistol. Can be set up any way she like with slim grips if needed and a very nice pistol to be seen with;)

Coldblood -Freedom Ventures or Armco would both stock them and be able to help with extras. Check the EE too as they sell very fast. Good luck on the therapy, bring lots of ammo:p

browning hi-power renaissance. if i had to pick a pistol for a girl villain in a movie this would be it hahha

But for something more reasonable.... A walther p99 would be pretty hot....

How people think a gun is very personal. I personal love Beretta and CZ but this doesn't mean that they are ### enough for the other people. A well made 1911 in either .45 or 9mm is damn ###y for a girl, as for the take down part, everyone learn how to live.....

Ummm...me :redface::redface::redface:

That's the problem. We don't know you well enough. I think what you are talking about is mainly how it looks (after it clears the sensible practical hurdles you mentioned) in your hands. That's like clothes. Some things will suit you and look great, some things won't work on you, even though they do for others, because only you look exactly like you.

What about a pair of flintlock duelling pistols?
