No offense to anyone .
Honest question without reading 1000 posts that are maybe outdated anyway .

Yes in Alberta and British Columbia.
Grizzly kills in Alberta must be reported.

Agreed. My own lineage’s history in North America stretches back to the 1700s on my mother’s side, which sounds like a while to us humans.

there is no way i can find family ancestor that far how lucky you are. in the same token my grand father on the slovene side took every year a brown bear to avoid any damages on the beehives sheeps and cows he owned and it worked well. now brussels is telling people do not shoot bear problems and just let them get do what they want and get some money back ...same for wolves ... it happened in croatia, slovenija, romania and other countries ... there will be always a problem between men and predators.

Imagine how boring the bush would be without its monsters. Might as well just camp in back yard, in the city, it would be the same thing.
Long live the monsters!
Well up here they are or can be in my back yard! We see them quite often on the bike trails behind my place!! I don’t carry a gun when I mountain bike, no one does, but most carry bear spray and so far no one got killed or attacked by a bear while biking or hiking around here yet!

An encounter would definitely add to the excitement factor, get the old heart pumping...
Lets a guy know hes still alive, lol

I believe most grizzlies here southern bc are chipped. Good luck killing one unless you find the chip. Don't know farther north. I have nothing against grizzlies cougars wolves but they won't be in my backyard. If for some reason I'm out in the middle of nowhere I'll respect them.

I’d take my 338 win with 225gr ttsx. Was never overly worried about them until it was almost too late, we had a big boar steal the front shoulder of an elk last fall. That will get the hair standing on the back of your neck when you walk up and notice a quarter missing and the bear only 100 yards across the field from you.
