If CCW was granted, have you thought about what you would carry?

i was just about to say - what about CCW'ing a 22LR like a Ruger 22/45 or HighStandard? and as backup if the assailant refuses to take the hint, a DE .50AE

"your first warning is that i carry. your second warning are the gates of St.Peter"

On a related note - I hear a lot about OC in the US nowadays. I'm totally confused. If one have a form 6 from ATF, which means he / she can take a handgun to the US. Does that also mean that a Canadian can OC down there?

I know that CC license to Canadians is not issued any more unless you have a driving license from one of the States or own property down there.

I'm still sticking with my P226 winter, and .357 snubby for summer. Just wanted to add a little POS .22 semi like a Jennings or something like it, not loaded.

That way if I screw up and shoot someone wrongly I can put the POS .22 in their hand! Kidding of course but never underestimate the value of a good throw-down!

If current prohib rules stand, HK P7M8.
If the prohib rules were ditched, I would look into a S&W airweight 2" or 3" revolver as either a primary or backup

Smith & Wesson - .38 M&P, it stopped em then and it still would

Every state has different rules.

Ask about a particular state. That way we can answer you accurately.

Alaska, Vermont, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada AND Michigan. Now they allow OC in the fist 5 but MI is so so. How does that go when we visit one of these states with the Form 6 (permit to temporarily import to the US for non resident aliens)??? We can not CC unless we have residency but OC...... ????

Just a side note - I was allowed OC on private land when hunting in Texas. I was able to attend ranges in Michigan but never carried outside the range (probably very useful there, but....). And I was told ok to OC for hunting as well.

I don’t know if they allow OC in populated areas.

If mag capacity did not apply I would take a Kel-Tec PMR-30.

Light, low recoil, relatively small bullet, but the ability to have thirty shots on hand is a powerful reason to carry it.

Mag capacity applies, Some kind of commander length and light 1911.

I'm sitting in front of my computer wearing an HK P7 PSP in the small of my back. (It isn't loaded, of course; I was at the range earlier and haven't cleaned it yet.)

I'm wearing a Milt Sparks IWB holster that grips the gun well yet allows me to draw almost without effort. Only trouble with it is the six month wait to get one. Quality is excellent. I also have an Uncle Mike's generic paddle holster that holds almost anything but is not concealable and probably will wear out rather quickly. At least it is cheap and readily available.

Oddly, I have neither the perceived need nor the desire to carry a weapon. What i want, indeed what I demand, is the RIGHT to carry. Hope you guys are signing up to Canada Carry.
