I know its a really heavy gun, but I would carry my new CZ75 SP-01 Shadow. I can put a lazer or light on it, and I don't care about the weight, because if we were all of a sudden allowed to carry a gun, I would want to be reminded by it all the time. I think its best to carry something that you are good at shooting with also, and what better gun to carry than the gun that you shoot IPSC with.

Glock-19 most of the time, as it's light and practical... in the winter or in the bush probably glock-20 10mm. Likely Browning 1922 .380 in the summer if I was wearing lightweight clothes. Maybe my 1911C .45 2-tone for fancy-dress occasions, as it's prettier than the others

I'd carry a 1911 because I've shot that particular pistol more than anything, so I'm very acustomed to it (even if I suck )

If I could spend more money right now, I'd like to get a glock 17. I'd probably carry one of those. More in the mag, fun in the bag!
