If i buy a pistol

I got a call yesterday from the Alberta CFO asking me to fax a copy of my membership (bought a P-38 from Tradeex on Friday). I suppled all the membership info at the time of ordering, but now they want to "see" the card. Seems like even Alberta's starting in with this crap now.

Yup the same thing happend when I bought my Ruger in spring. I got a call from a very friendly lady the following morning asking if I was a member of a range and if so if I could fax a copy of my membership over to her so she could finish the transfer went back to W.S.S had them do the faxing and by the time I got back there at lunch the nice lady had faxed my temp att and my long term att to the store:rockOn:
Found it odd, I always thought that you didn't need to be a member of a club in Alberta.

I wonder what they would say if you sent in a membership card from a range in a different province? The range I belong to costs $45 per year.

Here in Ontario, it wouldn't fly. My ATT states 'for all approved ranges in Ontario'. I would still have to apply for another ATT to take it out of province.

Things seem to have gotten even more squirrely since I got into handguns two years ago. Anyone get the feeling the CFOs are trying to give us a hard time? obviously
