obviously I would appreciate the sites that sell if for less money than the other ones ...

Closest to military grade is colt (as colt produces the m4/m16 for the u.s.). the M4 "style" is called the 6920 or with a quad rail monolithic upper its a 6940.

As for where to buy it ? come on man u can look through the dealers up top as well as anyone...

Yah, and to the OP, you'll need your RPAL, range membership and about $2500.

There are other AR15's available for cheaper, but they're not a Colt...

No they are ~2500 bucks
You could get a good starter AR (m4/m16 style rifle) imo for about ~1400

unless you go chinese which i never would but alot of guys dont seem to mind they are $700 but in no way even close to milspec
 
Many manufacturers produce M4- clones. Colt LE6920/21 are probably the closest because they are from the same factory and subjected to the same overall manufacturing program as the ones sold to the US military.

Stag, LMT and Daniel Defence all make quality M4 style carbines for LE and foreign military sales. Even Bushmaster did it, and they got burnt in piles by the Russians in Georgia.....

You have to pick up a specific model and look at it one by one. Some of the CMT 14.5" LE/Mil uppers are probably closest to the real M4 in terms of construction. On the other hand, Daniel Defence employs a cold hammer forged barrel which is argueably a better option but not exactly the normal way a M4 is made.
 
There is a Rock River Arms mil spec, with an M4, 14.5" barrel, flat top picatini upper, collapsible stock on the EE right now. Can be had for a good price. Or so I'm told:D

I've never understood why the colt le6920's are so expensive up in Canada. You can get them brand new for $1000 down here. Why 2.5x the price?

Not looking forward to moving back to Canada :mad:

Importing a weapon does not cost a lot of money. There is not a lot of duty on an imported weapon - none if it is made in north america because of nafta. There are no government surcharges, no extra fees, no new taxes. There is only one reason why they are 2.5x the price - market forces. They charge that much because they know we will pay it. This is not the stores charging more - they sell at only a few % above cost. The manufacturers and distributors and jacking up your prices.
