SIG P226 Enhanced Elite 9mm...or M&P 9mm + M&P .22 ?

New shooter....not really concerned about DA/SA vs striker fired, too new to care either way...not overly concerned with ammo cost, but do "get it" .22 gives you a lot more time on the trigger per dollar spent.

A bit of a "buy quality once...instead of cheap 3x more" kind of guy...also a bit of a nostalgic fool...would kinda like to keep the first till I die.

What do you guys think ?
 
new shooter I would buy the one gun over getting 2 for the simple fact of once he gets used to shooting the one he will be consistent with it... having two guns one of which is smaller then the other means two different grips and different feels for the gun.
 
Sig, and i have a m&p and a sig

it would be different if the m&p .22 was a direct copy but in .22 but its not, its a totally different gun inside

looks like Sig is leading the way...have to confess, was hoping it would.

Recently I almost had a H&K P30L LEM lined up, but it didn't happen....but I think the Sig wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Any other opinions welcome.

Good to know...I kinda knew there was something different between the two, but thought it was just ergo stuff (fixed backstrap). Was mostly considering the two together thinking the triggers would be similar...and I could get both for the cost of a Sig....but like I said, I'd rather spend more for long term pay-off.
 
Sig...

I bought the M&P when it came out, bought a 226 E2 after that.. then a 229 elite shortly after.. then a 22 kit for the 229, now I have a 220 on order and a 226 22 kit.. the M&P was decent.. however I like hammer guns 1000x more

If you like the feel of the P30L, and are looking at Sig, might also be worth checking out the Sig P229. Handle both and see what you like better. Both the 226 and 229 are great guns (owned both, kept the 229) and if you add the convesion kit, you can't go wrong. I really liked E2's on my 226 but found them way too small on my 229. Be sure to get the SRT.

I think I'm going 226....enough waffling...time to get the ball rolling, not like it's gonna be the last ; )

Loved the feel of the P30L LEM..thanks for letting me check it out...but they are almost impossible to come by.

Sig it is....I'll try striker fired on the next one ;)

P30L LEM isn't that tough to come by new (Cedar Valley can get them rather quickly).

My vote is for the P30 for ergonomics alone, though you can pretty up the Sig a lot more while the HK's have limited (almost none) after-market parts support.
 
I've only shot handguns for about 20 years, so please don't think I have an "expert" opinion...

That said, I recently traded my well-used Sig P220 for a new M&P .45, and couldn't be happier with the deal.
