if no absurd laws what semi-auto rifle would you own ?

Quite happy with the conventional lever actions and bolts I have now.
But if someone feels the need for a sa ar15 or a select fire ruger ac556 I would have no problem with it.

Springfeild Armory M1A Scout Squad with red dot mounted on handguard rail, or the Loaded Stainless Walnut using irons. Such a serious battle rifle. I absolutely love the M14 rifle as it has "muscle" and amazing accuracy. Every collection required an M14 & AR.

A 14.5" M4 is paramount but out in the field with lots of extended ranges/ Forrest/ mountains 1000 yard views everywhere......hands down I'd select the Springfield M1A Loaded/Nation Match in lightweight synthetic camo stock, LC M80's 149 FMJ BT

I've owned my Norinco M-14S for over 10/15 years, bought NIB, has synthetic CADPAT camo stock, fired MANY thousands of rounds of quality 147/150 gr ball and have had ZERO problems, no jams, etc. and VERY accurate for a "Chinese copy" lol

If I had an extra 4K, I'd love a Springfield Super Match in synthetic McMillan camo stock, USGI leather sling, bayo lug, using irons ....such a ###y beast.

Some good choices here but nothing unexpected really.

I'd be happy if the DPMS Recon G2 had no restrictions and I could have it as a truck gun. That and concealed carry handguns.

Hmmmm.... no absurd restrictions....

An original, select fire, STG-44 (plus lots and lots of ammo!)

An original, select fire, FG-42 (also with lots of ammo)

AR-15A2 (semi-automatic is fine, so I could shoot it in the bush rather than just at a range)

Leader Dynamics T2 Mk5 (not because it is a great gun, just because I have always wanted one and they are prohibited)

I have carried and used the FN...too heavy

I have shot the Steyr AUG...bullpups aren't really my thing (the main reason I haven't really thought about buying a Tavor)

G3...no real interest

M1 Garand and/or M-14...no real interest

AK-47...sure, if someone handed me one with a few crates of ammo and a mess of 30 rd magazines...but I wouldn't search one out and pay my own money for it

I would like to try a Dragunov

An AR-10 might be worth trying out

There are lots of others I would consider...like the tag line says, I like to keep my options open.

The only thing I would add to an AR10 truck gun is for it to be legally loaded.

Yes, the laws are absurd .....
