If not shipping by Canada Post, then who?

Yes you are. No dam wonder we are losing our firearms. Cannot even grasp canada post requirements for shipping them
As a yank I cannot believe you worked for the US army then again I don't know the position LOL

That’s what you said and now you’re saying something else.

You’re a special case for sure, and I’m done responding to a clown….

Have a good day…

Yes, I did say I worked in the US for my last 8 years before retirement but in the US Army??? Nope, lol

You best read the canada post act especially about non mailable matter which a firearm is
The ONLY way it can legally be shipped is as per their requirements and if they want could charge you big time for not doing so

Punishment

60 Every person who contravenes any provision of this Act or the regulations or who commits an offence under any of sections 48 to 59

(a) is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years; or

(b) is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction.

1980-81-82-83, c. 54, s. 54

Is this specific to Canada Post or does it encompass all carriers in Canada?

You have to have/sign up for the Solutions card, & yes, it's been Ridiculous shipping fees have gone up allot lately. After you SNAP Ship the label, or during, put in PROMO Code: RURAL2022 hopefully it will work...20% savings atm.

Yes, I got a card in the mail a little over a week ago explaining this. Tried it yesterday mailing a restricted and works great. From June 13 to Dec 31. Says it’s exclusive to Small Business members who have been identified by CP as operating in rural/remote communities but worth a try even if you’re not rural.

You have to do it just before checking out and printing the label. It’s a bit hard to find where to put the code, so you’ll have to search for it.

Far from 1/2

The Oversize surcharge will increase in 2022 to $15. This surcharge only applies to items where the longest side is greater than 1 m and/or items where the second longest side is greater than 76 cm. The Unpackaged surcharge will increase to $15.

Do you work at CP? You’re sure a ray of sunshine!

Nope but my BIL was a post master for 40 years and just retired in 2022 but I did work for the feds for 24 years so understand how the CP act works and he is still up to speed 100% and I question him quite a bit
Sorry just share facts and live in reality if one likes it or not it is what it is

CP oversize rate is now $18.00 , some people just think they know everything. Using second hand outdated information .

Just punch some numbers in CP system . If the overall length is over 102cm. The oversize fee is $18.00.

Dam what a bunch here and not second hand info right off the 2022 CP sheet
tax maybe or it may have went up again which would not be a shock
That was from the CP 2022 update in march with all increases I never punched it in today in the tool to check
Take a pill and it doesn't matter the point was it is not reducing shipping by 1/2

Here .It was updated/ changed JUNE 1ST sorry I am 2 months behind like who cares. IMO anyone that will take some ones rifle they bought apart to save this in shipping is a cheap fool shotguns yes OK for most

Do you know anyone that will take firearms for the average joe any more I don't
Please share. As far as I know it is canada post ONLY for us dudes now

Yes I do, I don't know if its smart to share this on an online forum though.

Very true, how would one provide proof that the milsurp you mailed is worth what we think it is… They just won’t take anyones word for it and it’s very difficult to get a settlement out of them.

You have experience claiming insurance from Canada post or it’s just stories on the internet?

Yes, we mailed an aircraft ELT (emergency locator beacon) to get the annual recertification done and it never arrived at the avionics shop. We had it insured for $800 and CP wanted receipts to prove it’s value. This was original equipment when the aircraft was new so no recipes were available. Our local CP lady (who’s a friend) came to the rescue for us and if it weren’t for her assistance I’m sure it would have been worse.
How could one supply a reciept for an old milsurp you’ve had for decades?
