If not shipping by Canada Post, then who?

Shipping costs is slowing down the EE. I'm seeing an uptick on local FTF ####### deals.

Shipping is the cost of a good box of ammo most times.

I lost a sale not long ago when the seller asked me to take off the stock to save the the oversize charge..
I slipped with the Allen Key and scratched it, I contacted the buyer and he no longer wanted it.

Once somthing is for sale I wrao it in a towel and dont touch it

What's the fuel surcharge up to now.

Shipped a 104 cm, 3.3 kg parcel yesterday. Fuel surcharge 10$, oversize 18$. With signature and taxes on the surcharges price went from 33$ to 73$ (BC to NB). Got an email from CP saying prices are increasing in sept, on top of the traditional 'busy period increase around the holidays.

Shipping in Canada is getting stupid. Ordered my kid some runners from Sportchecks on Monday August 22, going to be shipped by UPS, label has been created, nothing has moved since.

Bought some bullets from a site sponsor on Thursday August 25 going to be shipped by UPS, label has been created, nothing has moved since.

Bought a rifle from a fellow CGN’er, accepted at the Whitehorse post office on August 25, nothing has moved since.

Ordered something from Amazon.ca on Monday August 29. Item is coming from Kentucky, US with DHL. It’s currently out for delivery!

Last one I shipped was just the action and it was in province. Trigger lock lightly applied. I asked to use my small business account but it had been suspended from lack of use. Lots of packing and box tape. It was $30 or so plus insurance, the cheapest rate. It got there.

They just reduced the oversized parcel length at CP from 110cm to 100 cm. I never use a hard case, separate the pieces and wrap separately so you can stay under 100cm. I always wrap the box in brown paper unless the box is new. Set up a small business account as mentioned, use Snap Ship to pay and print your label and just drop it off. So far it’s been easy peasy.

This is what I do.
Also with snap shipping it is amazing how any package that might be some where around 99-101 cm is not 99 cm

Yes, we mailed an aircraft ELT (emergency locator beacon) to get the annual recertification done and it never arrived at the avionics shop. We had it insured for $800 and CP wanted receipts to prove it’s value. This was original equipment when the aircraft was new so no recipes were available. Our local CP lady (who’s a friend) came to the rescue for us and if it weren’t for her assistance I’m sure it would have been worse.
How could one supply a reciept for an old milsurp you’ve had for decades?

Canada post asked me to provide replacement value of the item lost. Maybe they would have accepted a quote or invoice similar item replacement part from a part store or something.

whitehorse has becoming a gong show related to shipping or receiving ... it may be as well canada post tracking ... before you were dropping it to the main post office at the depot and was shipped the same day now where ever you dropping it you re loosing at the best 2 days ... nothing is moving during week end or holiday and then you start to understand the delay ... we do have only one option now for the road adding an extra day, that winter will be something for getting things up here or leaving .... but at least you re not in inuvik where nothing is going for the next 4 days and nothing has been trough since friday ...

I have received firearms from UPS, but never sent one this way FWIW.

If ammo, powder or firearms are sent by a courier they must be delivered by the courier you sent them with or to a pickup location belonging to the courier, they cannot be passed to a different courier for delivery. I bought ammo recently and the courier being used was UPS and I had to pay extra to use Purolator as the courier, because UPS will not deliver to my location. I sent a rifle by courier last year, since I had not used the Snap label printing application and could not mail it because they can no longer indicate the minimum age of the receiver, when entering the shipping details at the post office, which you can do with the Snap label printing application.
