If only I had, had three grand!

More concerned with what I see and hear.
Certainly don't agree with Sharps '63.
Might as well have fun with my retirement fund before I retire and need the funds.

Lol... problem is, I didn't know what they were going to sell for! If I had made an offer, it would have been waaay higher than $3000.

AND!! I showed the store owner the blued one on the EE for $4500 a few days before they sold. He just said "I know". So I thought he knew what they were worth. Ie, way outta my price range!

I asked him what the other guys offer was, and he didn't want to tell me.... I guess he didn't want to make money that day

Well I just went back to the shop, and no money has transferred hands yet!

I offered him $4000, and he is saying it is all said and done. So I just reitered, if you haven't recieved payment, and have not initiated the transfers yet, then we should deal... you are running a business correct?

I wrote him an email as well, in case he comes round.

I'm confused. This was a silent auction. First you know the actual value and decided not to bid. Then you asked the auctioneer to break confidence and tell you how much the high bid was which he refused to do and then, after these were SOLD!, you tried to get him to sell them to you anyway AND followed up with an email reiterating your offer??!! Am I missing something? There are rules and I'm sorry Sir, but I respectfully suggest that you need to rethink your priorities if you want to engage in fair trade here or anywhere. And please don't tell me that "rules were made to be broken". Honour is your most important attribute when engaging in trade, IMHO. I see that you have a good feedback rating so I assume that this circumstance was an aberration of your usual attitude. This is just a wake up call.

Respectfully, Tom
