Wow, I'm impressed!! You've advanced to the point in your SHTF prepardness planning that you are working on the most trivial details.... Seriously though, this will likely be the least of your worries. Just clean with whatever you can and don't worry about it.

I dunno about you guys but I plan on using the issue cleaning kit and the little oil bottle that came with my sks. Seems almost tailor made for such a scenario.

Seriously though, the SKS is prbly the best overall end of the world gun.
I mean, you've gotta be able to get a huge-assed crate of them for less than 5G's
7.62x39 is plentiful, cheap, effective and lasts forever.

I ask the next SHTF question: What will you do to replace dishwasher liquid? Normal soap won't work, too foamy! Oh, the calamity.

I plan on just bartering non radioactive food and water for goods and services whenever I come in from the Wasteland.

The fission batteries fetch a fair price relative to their item weight.....in the Wasteland

Who knows what they'll be worth here. Though if they can power a heater, worth there weight in gold.

Well, i have 8 sks to wear out, a huge supply of norinco SP and FMJ non corrosive so no worries. No more norc ammo? fine i have corrosive stuff and any aquous liquid will do the cleaning What? No more 7.62x39 ammo? Perfect time to dust off my 3 svt 40 and open crates of ammo
