If SHTF and you use corrosive ammo for hunting/home defense

I will just let the barrel rust over time. When this happens and my gun no longer shoots straight, I will simply steal yours!

Your lack of preparation and foresight into gun cleaning supplies, highlights your unpreparedness, and obvious shortcomings of your survival plan.

While you are out scouring the earth for gun cleaning solvent or a kettle to boil water, I will simply invade your camp, and take your gun, as you have obviously left it behind, as you were to scared to shoot it prior to finding appropriate cleaning supplies.

;)

:agree: lol

WOW, op is gettin' shredded!

I would be more concerned about keeping the barrel cool. Sounds like you plan on putting down a lot of rounds!

They didnt play him off as a blind man very well then, since he can instantly find small objects and manipulate them like a seeing person.
-notice that hes walking next to a car on the highway..see theres a body in it, and then go check it for shoes..
-aim at a cat and then walk over and pick it up, again instantly, no feeling around..
-walk through a forest
-pick out the shop he needs in the town
-notice the cinema/bar across the road
-see sentries ontop of the buildings
-watches the biker kill the travellers and then easily identifies him in the bar
-everything else he does in the movie...

and if hes blind then how is the dark going to help him, or how will he differentiate between the two ?
So far as im concerned he backs up under the overpass because the combat looks badass all in silhouettes.. seems like a douchebag director move

regardless, if they meant for him to be blind, then they did the worst job ever.
as there are only 1-3 things that could promote him being blind, and the rest of the movie says otherwise.

You've missed the sutleties of the entire movie. The man was "touched" by "God". That's how he found the damn book, it spoke too him. It's also how he could move out of the way of incoming bullets. I've known blind people could tell being in shadow from being in sun because of the feel on their cheeks.

The dark helped him fight several attackers because they lost their vision in the shadows and he didn't need to see to fight.

If you clean an sks with KY jelly, would it shoot further? Faster? Or would the bullets just load easier? Or would KY maybe allow somebody to cram a 12Gauge into the sks and shoot it?

Seriously, During WW2 I doubt any russians were kind to their guns. Out in the rain, snow and crappy weather, I doubt they got a lot of chances to clean their guns. Besides, how much salt could there in the ammo, must not be a lot. as long as there is ANY lubricant (not water based) or oil in the barrel and prevents oxygen from coming into contact with the salt covered metal it will not rust

Just a few observation... You don't have to be blind to know and read Braille... So the hero in that feeble movie was not blind.

Braille would be easy to figure out and transcribe into regular text... So the vilain could easily have read that bible.

And corrosive residues can be flushed with regular room temperature water, the gun wiped off and oiled back up in any situation... SHTF or not...

I've heard a good patch with Windex helps to negate the effects of corrosive ammo.

Note to self: next time buying groceries, buy 20 bottles of Windex to put with canned food and bottled water so when SHTF, I can keep my guns clean.

pfff you guys and your corrosive ammo and windex!!

question for red riflers: since you rock wood and not rails, what do you do when the lights are out? sks + weaponlight?? ewww

asked my friend with his CZ58 and he told me he'll use his lighter lolll
