If you could only have two hunting rifles...

My foul weather gun, plastic/stainless 7wsm with a B&L 4200, 2.5-10x40, rainguard of course Savage m16, and my sunny weather weapon, a walnut, blued steel 30-06, Leupold vxIII, 2.5-8x 33 Tikka T3 Forest.

I only have two calibers for hunting .30-06 and .25-06. I reason that I can shoot light, fast and flat with the 25- and can load to 30- up with up to 240 grain Woodleighs for dinosaur if I need to. Seriously though, I bought these two to keep my reloading as simple and inexpensive as I could - its worked out pretty well so far, except for the damn .30-30 my 8 year old love to shoot.

I have to agree with ardent that just one nice 375 H&H would be nice and all that's necessary.

But if I were to choose two it would be a CZ550 30-06, and a CZ550 Safari Mag in 458 Lott(just covering my bases for the whole planet) :)

If only two. Today I would pick a 30-06 win mod 70 sporter. And a 25 long rimfire if obsolete cartridges count. If not, maybe a 22 hornet. Tomorrow I might change my mind. That's why I have so many rifles. There's many others I love. But you can't argue the versatility of the -06.
