If you could own only 1 WWI Rifle?

Pre WW1 commercial mauser put into service by the German snipers at the beginning of the war. Something like a Mauser Oberndorf B-type sporter

Mauser T-Gewehr :)

Depending on condition I would say $600 - $700. But keep in mind it all depends on how badly someone wants one. I see a M28 priced at $600 on the EE right now. It was higher and sat for a while.

No.1 MkIII. And I'm amazed that nobody's brought up the stabby wonderfulness that is the Pattern 1907 bayonet yet. 17" of blade mounted on the end of one of the best battle rifles of all time makes one hell of a fashion statement.

Mosin Nagant 1907 would be the second choice.

Hey, question just came to mind. Are there any reported incidents of Austria-Hungarian/German Calvary charges against British/Common Wealth infantry? ( that's why 17" of blade on the 1907, gives the guy on the ground the reach to "unhorse" his mounted opponent)

M1917 Enfield. My Grandfather was issued on during his service as a Home Guard officer during WWII.

Heavy, but very solid, dependable and built like a tank.
