If you could own only 1 WWI Rifle?

Ok, So I have actually found and purchased my rifle: SMLE No1 MkIII*. Thank you for everyones input and nominations. There were a few WWII rifles mentioned, but I'm sure they were Freudian Slips. Now for choosing and hunting for my second WWI rifle: maybe the M1917, or 1903. (a bit of the stars and stripes). I picked up a copy of the new special issue of Gun's and Ammo "Surplus" and lovin it.

Yeah, the Chauchat is technically a machinegun, but I don't care. It's just so funny looking I gotta get one for my wall.

LE all the way, Ross's are neat but in the mud...no thanks.
Mausers and Springfields; no I'll take an LE anytime. Not as glamorous but as a battle rifle...the only one I'd consider.
Mosins are neat too; but again...shear volume of fire...LE

Ross Rifle MkII** it was the best sniper rifle of WWI (so long as it was kept clean and well fed, that is...).

The MkII** wasn't issued, and didn't exist as a sniper. It was a pre-war iron sighted target rifle.

All of the Ross sniper rifles (Canadian factory & unit assembled) were built on the MkIII action.
