if you mean 'everything' by the world, I'd pick a stainless Winchester model 70 classic with a McMillan fiberglass stock, Leupold VXIII 1.75-6x scope in quick detach mounts, ghost ring sights.

cartridge would be 416 rem mag and load would be 350 gr. Barnes Triple Shock X's @ 2600 fps




if its only Cananda, Id pick a stainless/fiberglass stocked m700 in 338 Dakota with a 2.5-8x36mm scope. 210 gr. Barnes TSX @ 3100 fps

yup, it'd have to be a shotgun. Can fire scatter loads, slugs, less than lethal stuff, flares, you name it. For any SHTF/EOTW situtation a shotgun would be my best friend. :D
Probably a 12ga pump with a barrel about 24" long.
 
Single shot Winchester model 37 in 12 bore. With 12 bore Lee Loader and some powder and shot. Maybe a Lyman mold to make the odd solid. I think I could get by with that. Fancy and a joy to look at? No. Would I bet my life on it? Yes.

If we are talking rifle here I would have to go with my Huquavarna Husky in 30-06. Handloaded my 30-06 can take every game aninmal in N.A. and cartridges canbe found everywhere. 2nd choice Model 94 in 30-30 for virtually the same reason I like the 30-06.

Shotguns - Model 12 Winchester

Handgun - CZ 85 9MM or Para SSP in .45acp

naaa i would probably go with a 460 Weatherby Mag for the world
and north America a 375 h&h
you can always shoot infront of a grouse and spray it with rocks....:D

If we're assuming shells/cartridges will be available - Winchester 1897 in 12 ga.

If we assume no commercial availability of ammo - I'm with madtrapper143.

I'm so biased its not funny. Marlin 1895G, yes my little big gun in 45/70. Besides the Bears, Deer and Moose its even taken a Racoon, ( it charged me I swear), a Grouse (saved 3/4 of breast) and a Rabbit (found both legs in perfect shape on eithers sides of the rd!!:eek: :D The rest of the Rabbit wasn't in such good shape. My friend actually missed the rabbit with my 870 12g and I backed him up!!!
