If you had only '1' choice !

Probably somewhere.
If I was going to have a practical, affordable rifle I would probably choose a handi-rifle with a .223, .30-06, .375 and 12 Gauge barrels.

Tough call for me. I'd be probably more inclined to an 870 12 gauge, but might also end up with a Rem 700 in .243 or perhaps .270 Hopefully, we never have to make the decision.:(

Tell you the truth haggisbasher I don't know where that pic was taken, what military sub that is or who took it ... I honestly took it from another gun-site ... ;) HAHA. Cheers and HAPPY NEW YEAR my fellow CGNer's,

there's a reason why the canadian rangers are still using Lee Enfield's

Yes because the government is to cheap to give them a better rifle as in the M 16 and train them in it's function.

Stay Safe

What I meant by that is that you would need a all around rifle that would be effective in any conditions: cold weather, sand/dust, humide jungles, etc.
It should also be able to shoot/cycle properly without proper take down and cleaning like, even after you shot a bunch of rounds. The C7's and other variants would not be my first pick because they jam often in bad conditions. That "pousse culasse" (bolt pusher?) is not a luxury with these rifles...

That being said, yes I think the goverment should invest more in the Rangers...they are really valuable to this country.

Ok...Ok....Ok....Otokiak. I see your Blue Star and raise you to a Crossfire mk1!

I'm not really into black guns but this one would be sweet... Pump-action .223 over with 12 ga. under.

Yeah, I know, it's ridiculous but think of the "wow factor"...

Looks like you got that just backasswards(12 over .223 under)!!

I'd have to go with what I have on hand(Sav Mod 24)22lr over .410!!

I know of a Ferlach drilling made by Josef Just that would be the perfect hunting gun. It has three barrels , one for each of the following calibers : 12 gauge , 270 Winchester and 22 long rifle .

That would be great, it covers everything------
As long as you are able to carry it in the field hunting:rolleyes:
That thing must weigh at least 10 lbs:eek:

There are some lightweight Merkel drillings that are between 7 and 8.5 lbs. Not too bad, IMO.

Then at that weight, i would have to think that that would be one hell of a gun--covers all hunting conditions in north america.

CASE CLOSED, we have a winner:D

I can't remember the weight of the Drilling but it was very comparable to a regular single-barreled gun ....just a bit heavier .
The barrels were 24" long and included a quick detachable scope
