If you were starting over, what would be your first handgun?

Easy, allowing that I lived in Canada I would opt for a CZ75B with a Kadet 22 Conversion unit. The why is also easy as I like both the CZ75B shooting 9mms and the Kadet 22 Conversion unit with 22s. I would have two guns for less than the cost of most any other handgun. Regards, Richard :D

Anything but the P22 that was my first handgun *LOL*

Probably my G22, maybe a double stack STI (damn I still need/want one of those *LOL* )

I'd put the money into a quality 1911 type. Probably a Para Ordanance single stack. I started with a GI 1911a1 and have gone full circle through revolvers and more modern plastic guns. I now realize, for recreation shooting, I had the most fun with an all steel big-mouth.

I have owned (or do own)
CZ75
Browning HP
Norico 1911
Norinco M-77B
S&W Model 29
Ruger Single Six
Ruger Blackhawk
Enfield MK1

I would without a doubt go with the CZ75, I am someday going to buy another one and likely a Norinco 1911A Compact

In center fire: Glock 17, 21 or a Kimber 1911 because I like Glock/1911's best of the new and best of the old ( just my opinion no one freak out!). Caliber choice is because I feel that 9mm Luger and .45ACP are the best calibers out there. Tried and true in combat over many wars, nothing speaks to effectiveness like body count.
In .22- Browning Buckmark because it is easier to diassemble than Ruger (like alot easier) and it is a tack driver. It also will eat any ammo even Remington "Yellow Jacket" which most autos do not like. Don't use CCI stinger it is too potent and is specifically mentioned in the Buckmark manual and also in the Ruger Mark 2 manual.

Gorky, that was my first handgun too! What a P.O.S. If I could start it all over again, I would shell out the bucks for an HK P7M13 and that would be it.
