If you were starting over, what would be your first handgun?

Same as Gorky and uncle Walther, my first hand gun was the F#%ing P22 and I won't do it again, I would like a 686 as my first one, and a CZ 75B in black poly finish the second.

No kidding, P22's do not seem to have a good reputation around here. I've said it once and I'll say it again, "You shoot the P22, the P22 shoots you" (brass in the face  ).

At least the gun shop took mine back and they're shipping it back for erratic ejection issues. Wouldn't surprise me if they stop stocking them altogether.

My first was an Inglis Hi-power and I don't regret it at all though now I would sugest a Mk3 Hi-power just to reduce the wear and tear on the old war horses ;)

I would get a decent entry level .22. I like the High Standard I have now. My first pistol was a LLama .45 and I think it actually put me behind when I was learning. I could barely afford the ammo and flinching was my constant companion. Yeah, a 22 for sure.

Ruger MkII or MkII or Ruger 22/45 MkII or MkIII....;)

Or Colt Series '70 Gold Cup National Match .45ACP with Colt .22 Conversion Unit...

I would the same thing I did in the first place, find the gun that fits me and buy it, a Beretta 92 series.

I am starting over!

1st Handgun was - Walther P99 40 cal.

The start over gun? getting a Kimber 22 target, 1911.

AMMO WAY cheaper, I will miss the recoil of the 40 cal on a tupperware frame though ;) .

(my Kimber should arrive next week !)

Not to hijack, but do Beretta's eject out the left side or does that only happen with Hollywood blanks?

HK Custom SPort USP in 9mm, WITH stainless slide.
STI Edge in .40 for standard.

Are you sure stainless slide are available for the Custom Sport?

Anyways mine would be a HK USP Compact Tactical...even though my first was a fullsize Tactical.
