Applies to semi-autos naturally.
Quality control at its worst!

Don't let the RC's know about this!!
We can't have the cool toys. If the authorities find out about the "shake fire" feature of the latest Taurus, it'll be a goner for sure :p ;)

(E)

One crappy video does not justify condemning a manufacturer, who knows maybe Bubba took a Dremel to the trigger bits.
I don't own any Taurus guns, I have never even seen one but I can say that this is the first safety related issue I have heard of concerning this manufacturer.
Wait for the Jury to come back before pushing the panic button.

X 2.

Had a Taurus PT99 at a local gun range here that was a rental. It's safe to say that that gun fired in the many thousands of rounds with absolutely NO issues; and just the occasional cleaning.

I suspect that there probably was another issue here then a faulty gun.

I've seen that video before. Like others have said it's hard to say. Might have been faulty trigger job.
In Taurus's defense though I own two taurus handguns. I have a Taurus pt99af. It has been a fantastic pistol for the money. I've never had any failures or jams whatsoever. Nothing ever‼️ I've fed it nothing but the cheapest ammo I could find. It is also one of the most if not the most accurate pistols I've ever fired. It would definetly be my go to pistol in a SHTF scenario.

I also have a Taurus model 94. It's a .22 DA revolver. Just picked it up recently. It's a sweet little shooter too. DA pull is a little heavy but all around a great little .22 plinker. Sorry no pics.
Just because you see a video on the internet of maybe one bad apple or quite possibly a messed up amateur trigger job is really no reason to write off a whole company. The quality is superior to norinco.

The gun is broken, likely buy the user.
No gun fires itself, and even more so with the safety on.

Goes to show, just because you can tinker doesn't mean you should .

They recalled almost 10000 Taurus Brazil 24/7 pistols. Most of which were already on duty with Police Depts.
The video is real but I havent heard of the same problem with 24/7s made in the states..... If anything they're crazy heavy trigger makes it TOO hard to fire them ;)

I had a Taurus TCP. It is by far the best of the little 380s as far as trigger pull and reliability. 800 rounds and not a single failure. Of course it is one of the models that is made in the USA.

However, I don't have much experience with their Brazilian made pistols.

The Shooting Blog posted this in their daily email yesterday or the day before.

then ensured they told everyone that the pistol's affected were only from the Brazil plant and that there are NO issues like this with any of the Taurus firearms from the US plant.

never-the-less, that is extremely disturbing.

Could that be an inept trigger-job? Taurus isn't the most refined trigger out of the box, or so I've heard. What do you owners think? Ever been tempted to "polish" your triggers?

I've been wondering how hard it is to do a trigger job at home. This video is making me reconsider my opinion that I could handle it.
