Je comprend pas qu'il garde cet officiel incompetent qui raconte n'importe quoi et qui invente des lois.

"It's the worst shooting club in Quebec. and for all other firearms, they want only one round in the chamber. You're not allowed to fill your mags. They even told me that it was illegal to hunt with 22lr. The week after, I brought in the published hunting regulations and prove to him that he was wrong. Then he's trying to tell me I missunderstood. I don't understand why they keep this incompetent Range Officer when he's always making up rules."

There ya go WE. Now, try to learn french....

At least you are allowed to load your mag with one shot... seriously, it could be much worse.

Just check out the Malian Army, looks like they are frequenting the same range as you!

If it's a club then it belongs to the members. Far too many members of club executive committees act like they own the place, when they don't...

It's an issue to bring up at a club meeting, in-house rules can be voted down, whether or not the board likes it. In fact, if they refuse to bend to the will of the members, vote them out.

If it's a private range, then the owner can make up whatever rules he/she likes. In that case, it is their range. In that case, I'd take my $$$ elsewhere.

If its a club and you don't like the rules get involved, take the time you spend complaining about it, and use that time to start making changes. It's a slow process but it does work, I did just this at our club and things are starting to change. The 10 people that show up at the meetings make the rules. If you don't get involved you have given up your RIGHT to complain. Just my 5 cents worth

i've never heard of rules like that at any range i've ever been to..... i call BS, i think its time to find a new range.

ok the next time someone at a gun ranges tells you something like such is against the law ask them to show you it in writing 100% of the time they cant because our laws are so vauge i'm intrested to know why he is the only one who could come up with a sure fact when the rest of us cant the guys is a typical old timer who is so out of touch he hasn't trimmed the 10 inch nose hair he's got going on tell people like that to #### off and mind their own

Glad i don't waste money on range memberships.

I only shoot non restricted and have so much crown land in the local vicinity that there is always a good place to target shoot.

Law no... Bylaw... no... Conditon from the CFO sounds like it... Rule of the range sometimes...

It all depends did you break any laws nope... Did you break a rule might of. Did you go against the CFO might have did fire rain down from the sky and all hell break lose nope.

I look at it this way if its safe to do and not illegal I don't care how other people feel I do what I want...

Funny if it wasn't so sad.

Following the convoluted Canadian firearm Laws is bad enough, add in the Provincial CFO whims can make a grown man cry; Mix in the RO fantasies of max 1 rnd/mag is time to change range or sport.

:puke: I STRONGLY suggest you take your hard-earned membership fees and go somewhere else if possible. You don't need to belong to a gun club/range if you own non-restricted firearms so go to the bush and shoot to your heart's content! . I guess anything goes in Quebeckistan. :bangHead::bangHead::bangHead:

That pretty much sums it up for me...

1) barf
2) move my money elsewhere.. after 2 months of waiting my rpal should be in the mail today.. so there is gonna be a a 44 mag revolver and 9 milli pistol coming eventually (need a range) i am studying the other ranges near me.
3) I do go shoot all the time in the bush, its the best way to empty a box of 555 winchester in a short amount of time :)
4) also on the market to buy my own land with my brother this year..

La morale de cette histoire... screw l'acadie range/club!

3 weeks ago the actually went back partially on their decision.. as soon as he saw me enter the range he told me..

"Hey pal, you gonna be happy, we lifted the rules about 1 round per mag to 5 rounds" (but i was still rolling eyes.. and asked to see that law in writing since he always played the "police rule card".. so i guess police change the law all the time according to the weather and their mood in Quebekistan)

2 weeks later that, went back at the club and they reinstated the 1 round par mag policies. (there i told.. thats it im out)

If I did not had an RPAL (and also heard that if i dont renew my membership anywhere before this crappy one expire, im loosing my "LOI 9" .. another 50$ lameass exam i had to do in addition of the rpal to get handguns in QC)

That thing start happen to me as well, I never have problem with .22, just recently start on Wednesday. They start to limit each round in magazines on .22 . It's suck when I brought like 5 rimfire rifle to test out.

To OP, maybe we can arrange a range time in the bush. Let me know. PM is always good.

Being from Brossard.. i wonder where/what is your range ? Are you at L'acadie as well or another one ? (so i can remove your range too from my list of happy place to shoot)

That's L'Acadie as well. I have my own business in St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu so L'Acadie is quite suitable for me, only 10 minutes from my business.

It all made sense once I saw you were from Quebec. Seriously, move to AB. Although I hope this isnt a sign of things to come at every range in the future...

Ask them for the document that says you cannot use the 25-rd magazine on your 10/22. Your 10/22 is non-restricted, and as long as your OAL is not less than 26", you can even use a 100-rd drum mag. Not to be confused with Ruger Charger which uses the same magazine, but pinned to 10-rds, you should be good to go.

If they insists as posted, ask them to put your violation in writing and contact your CFO to report this range for non-compliance with regulations.

Long story short.. i got told today by the owner and our "officiel de tir" at the range that it is illegal to use my butlers creek mag loaded with more than 1 round at 50meters.. and i could use them with 10 rounds max at the 30meters (the only spot on the pistol side of the range that you can shoot a rifle on the table)

Its a range around the south shore of Montreal named "Club de tir l'Acadie"

at 50m with my Ruger 10/22 legally on the rifle part of the range: i can load 1 round in the mag, shoot it, remove the mag, reload 1 round MAX in the mag, shoot it.. rince and repeat
at 30m with my Ruger 10/22 legally on the pistol side of the range: i can load 10 round in the mag (out of 25), shoot it, remove the mag, reload another 10 rounds MAX, shoot it.. rince and repeat

Is it normal / real [law wise in canada] ? Never heard that one before
Is it a decision of the owner to proceed that way or are every range like that ? ( i ask because i was using fully loaded 25 rounds butlers creek at 50meter for 6 months at that club before being told that today)

I want to respect the rules and all but if its an in-house rule i may have to shop for another range!

Once again, all your input are welcome
Thank you very much.
