It is a LA, but the bbl is 23".Rembo said:veeerrrry nice...looks like a long action and a 24" tube..good shooter too....
what's your OAL length when touching the lands?
I might do that some day down the road. The improved is pretty close to a 25/06, but I'm not sure that I need that extra velocity here in NB. If I did, I would probably just get a .270LittleBoyLefty said:Do you think you might ream it to 257AI at some point? From what I have heard that is one of the better Ackleys.
I think I'm going to leave the stainless as is. I kinda like the SS bbl with the blued reciever.Noel said:Silly question but are you going to paint that big silver barrel when you go after the stock?
I have a Browning FN Safari in 300H&H in the works right now. Is that a good enough "nice" gun for ya?Dosing said:You really mistify me SC, what happened to 'only gonna get nice guns', like a nice Heym???

I like the older, classic, calibers and don't really need the extra horsepower, and the 257R was a good fit for the LA Mountain Rifle.eltorro said:Why did you choose the 257 Rob. instead of the Wtby? or 25-06?
