I'm stuck, ACR vs XCR Help!

Converting an ACR to non restricted can be done for $500 and you can buy a used restricted ACR for $2000 if you wait for one to pop up on the EE. Then sell the factory barrel to anyone with an AR that wants a hammer forged chrome lined barrel and get $200 back.
It's easy and doesn't end up being that expensive.

You might be waiting for a year if you want to wait for a $2000 ACR on EE.

I know more than one guy that has bought them for that price. That wasn't the asking price but if you can haggle you can find them.
I paid $2300 for mine with a custom 12 inch barrel and a Geissele super ACR trigger.
You may be waiting a year if you think someone is just going to throw one into your lap for that price though.

It's possible - this is precisely what I did, right down to the prices. NR Enhanced ACR for $2600 after tax on the barrel swap and shipping.

Like I said, you will be waiting for a while if you want ACR at that price.

I sold that 12 inch custom barrel for $500 so I actually paid $1800 for the rifle then I got a used Herron Arms barrel for $800 so all in my non restricted ACR with Geissele trigger was $2600. That seems higher than I thought, maybe I got mine for $2200. Either way it isn't as expensive as people think and the ACR is a much better rifle than the XCR.
The best thing about the XCR is that Wolverine is backing them with the best customer service I've ever seen.
Once Bushmaster get's back in the game and starts making parts and if they ever come out with factory conversion kits the rifle will be one of the best deals available. Mine has been 100% reliable with all magazines and ammo I've tried and is very accurate.
I couldn't be bothered to sit around whining that Bushmaster wasn't making caliber conversions so I built my own non restricted 300BLK and am working on getting my 6.8SPC conversion finished off. The 300BLK conversion is reliable with supersonic and subsonic loads of every weight available in 30cal. I'm also shooting 155gr A-max handloads into less than an inch at 100yards.

The ACR may cost a little more than an XCR but to me it's worth it.

I have an XCR and an ACR and as far as a bush gun goes, tavor 100%. I go through some thick brush and the overall length of the rifle is a real plus. My gen 1 tavor has never had a ftf, fte, slam fire, nothing and I only installed the bolt upgrade a year ago. I did buy a gen 2 tavor simply for a good optic but installed an eotech on gen 1 over the junk mepro sight. XCR and ACR can get scratched up pretty good going through the bush. Without looking to hard, a Used gen 2 tavor with a used eotech 2300-2400.

The tavor may make a good bush gun due to its OAL but the caliber is lacking for hunting any larger game. That is where the ACR or even the RFB would be better choices IMO.
