Man, people need to mind their own business. So many bootlickers. I follow the law, and that caliber is legal, so mind your own freaking business. Do I own a gun in that caliber? No, but I would love to see guns in this caliber in Canada. Some of the people here need to quit CGN and go join the socialists where their mentality will be welcomed.

OKA is a perfect example of why gun rights matter. I am no bleeding heart, but the Oka crisis shows that government and their bootlickers need to be held in check.
Why does he have to own a firearm in this cartridge in order to possess the ammunition? Quite a number of firearms enthusiasts are ammunition collectors as well.
If you want to go down the "justification" road, that's a slippery slope to be on.

According to Armalytics; due to OIC, being named or conv auto, now any listed firearms in that calibre are prohib, but all are also semi automatic.
Bolt actions do exist, and there's no reason to assume that NO firearms exist for a calibre. Theoretically it wouldnt be hard to create a single shot with a barrel blank.
Following the liangjian store listed earlier there is ammo listed. Clearly it went through CBSA. If it was a problem they would have made a stink about it

Even if it hypothetically was for a now prohib firearm, I haven't seen anything to suggest it was obtained through the illicit gun-running or that it is being used in a criminal manner beyond paperwork violations.
Just because your guns haven't been banned yet, you think you have the moral high ground to demand others justify their purchase goods that are not banned but could be used in conjunction with prohibited firearms? Better get on it and report all these folks in the ee buying and selling parts associated with last Mays OIC banned firearms too.
Get a life. All firearms work off of the same basic principle and pose the same relative threat to public safety when misused. None are more dangerous by any appreciable margin than others unless you are a government with tyrannical inclinations.
Don't worry, the government will surely extend the bans soon enough, and if you're lucky enough to offer you ten cents on the dollar for your firearm, at which point you can either choose to praise them for their consideration of your safety, or join the hypothetical individual you presently so demand justify their purchases to you.

I don't want to imagine a world where you have to give reasons to buy ammo, especially to somebody presumptive and rude.
If I'm not mistaken, you are allowed to construct or build any firearm (not for commercial sale) that you could otherwise legally possess, so OP could be making a bolt action with a 19" barrel, 27"+ overall length and fires semi auto with a magazine of 5 or less.Unlikely, but it's totally plausible if you want to drive your nose into someone else's business.
