Can you import a Winchester Trapper 1925?? with a 16" barrel?
a 15" barrel, a 14" barrel?
Thanks

I'm not sure. Back in the late 1990's there was a request made to have the "Trapper Carbines" removed from the NFA (the NFA of 1934 is what classifies SBR's or Short Barrel Rifles as Class III Firearms). There is no specific list that we can look up to tell us what is included specifically. Generally, any rifle with a barrel length under 16" is considered a Class III Firearm and US State Department for some time now has been rejecting export permit applications for Class III Firearms if the end user is a civilian.

It is possible that the Trapper Carbines were designated as excluded from the NFA... apparently the BATF in the US had been doing so on a case by case basis for some time in the 1990's... but there is no indication how State Department treats them. The only way to find out would be to put in an application and see if they approve or reject it.

I wish I could give you a more definitive answer but I just don't know one way or the other.

will the US approve an export permit for a SBR type rifle, if the end user is a police officer (rifle for himself)?

Sometimes yes and sometimes no... there doesn't seem to be any fast and hard rule on that. Contact me via regular e-mail if you'd like to pursue this.

Are optics controlled items that require an importer? I was going to buy a Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T from a seller in the USA. I just assumed that it would be no issue. Or, am I wrong on that?

How are your connections with KMW Long range solutions custom rifles of the US?

We've not dealt with them before... but that's the beauty of our 3rd Party Purchase imports... you buy the gun direct from any US Supplier and we handle the import/export for you. As far as you US Vendor is concerned it's a Domestic sale since they are simply shipping to our US FFL in Michigan... we then handle all the export stuff for you.

For details see our website... follow links to 3rd Party purchase.

Now what about .22 conversion kits for 1911's etc? I'm pretty sure you don't need a license to purchase them here in Canada, what about buying them from the states? Would I have to use your services to import them in, or could I just go down across the border myself and pick it up?
