Just a heads up to those frustrated by Canpar delivery.

Canpar will be introducing hundreds of new drop off locations across Canada.

These will be at small convenience stores in all areas of the country.

Hopefully this will go a long way to improving your experience with Canpar.

That's good news - even more improvement. They are pretty amenable to when I call the CS number and ask them to hold it at the depot, which lucky for me I can drive by on my way home. FAR (by a massive margin) better than UPS service.

About a month ago I had two orders, one from Can Ammo and one from another vendor who uses the same shipping account. One of the delivery slips was tossed and I had to adamantly pout and point to the package from the other vendor on the floor with my name on it before they would believe me. Nobody at Canpar to call it was just me and the gas station lady.

There has been some growing pains with the local store for me. They are a gas station/convenience store. Good idea, but still not a shipping centre. Boxes stacked wherever on the floor, no counter to work from, handheld thingy didn't work very well, counter person didn't have ANY clue what I was talking about. Trial by fire. I'm sure they will have the kinks worked out soon. It was convenient to be able to stop by at 8:30 on my way home though.

The only issues I had with the previous service was that they seemed to open at 11 am, two hour lunch and close at 1. Also they left the parcel on the truck for 2 days so you couldn't pick it up at the depot anyway.

Great. Our stuff will now be sitting on the floor between the overstock chips and the pepperettes.

Given the amount of theft at variety stores, I imagine Canpar will be paying heavy for this.

We use to have can par deliveries but no more. It gets contracted out to Dhl now. It's a pain in the arse.

I don't know if its changed here in Regina, but last time I missed my delivery from Canpar the only time I could pick up was between 7:30-8:30 am at a random warehouse on the outskirts of the city. I work at 8 so it is a struggle. Just ordered some stuff from you guys today!

Canpar picked up my latest order from you guys yesterday and I had it in my hand today before noon. Not sure how much room for improvement there is!! I'm only on Vancouver island, but still pretty quick.

Good to hear, I had absolutely no problems with Canpar anyway but this is a plus for sure!
Will the remote locations be able to accept Ammo and Firearms?

My brother just got his ammo shipment today from Canpar but delivered by Canada post. Last month they did the same thing to me. We don't even live in a remote location.

I am also interested if the expanded service includes remote locations. I would love to get some larger quantities of ammo.

Received my latest CanadaAmmo order today. I live close to the Canpar depot in Edmonton. I phoned CS and told them not to bother to deliver and just hold the package at the terminal, which they did. I went to pick up the order on my lunch break. No issues. I know not everyone is that lucky... Still prefer Canada Post though. Ordered from Walmart once, their free ship option was to the closest post office, no home delivery to be attempted. I actually liked that. Wish everyone else could have the same option.

Canpar doesn't even try our rural location. Drop off is always the convenience / gas station in Sundre. Bit of a communications barrier there but it works fine. I actually like the ability to pick up, so I don't have to try to be home waiting for a courier to show up. Different pick up points, but Purolator, UPS Fedex and all pretty much work the same. I actually got an amazon parcel delivered the other day by Fed-Ex. Note stuck to the gate. "I hid your parcel behind the bushes". Laugh2

That depot is in such a ####y place.

Overall the years I have good service from Canpar. I just had a delivery from Canada Ammo dropped off at a gas station yesterday. No hassle at all.
If anyone has experience with this process, let me know. They are rolling it out in Western Canada now.

Worked for me just last week quick to our pickup depot. I agree better than waiting for a courier. No problems ever with Canada Ammo for me a solid go to and it's a Locally owned Biz which I like to support.
