I just wanted to give a shout out to any who are wondering how to reduce the nastiness of the Marlin 795/60 trigger pull. There is a gent in the USA with the name of MCARBO who offers a spring kit to reduce trigger pull without messing with the functions of the semi-auto. I purchased from him for around $25.

I believe that most people are easily able to do the spring swap-out by themselves. I found out that I am not one of them....

So back to MCARBO went my trigger unit and lower. For $20 he did the installation (shipped). He has a Youtube video. He is also a sponsor on another "Rimfire Central type forum".

I do not have a pull gauge, but would estimate that my pull was reduced 50%. The rifle had no difficulty passing the safety test. Give him a shout- it's a cheap and effective improvement on an excellent rifle. Now if only somebody could come up with a RELIABLE 30 round magazine.

For those of us who are handy with tools, I did the trigger tune up (from YouTube) on my Marlin 60. Trigger is now at 2.75 lbs. with a very crisp and distinct re-set. Almost bought the Mcarbo kit but my cheapness crept in. Cost was $0 plus two hours of careful work. Those 3 tiny C clips made me paranoid not to lose. The results - very satisfying.

From what I understand, the kit includes only the springs (there are 4 I think) and instructions. The price is around $35 shipped to Canada, $30, to the US.

It's an exra $20 (plus shipping) to have MCARBO install it for you. I think most people should be able to install it themselves... ;) (sorry slammer1) :p

No worries! I started to sweat after those c-clips slid off- I never made it past second base...

I guess the price even with installation seems okay to me when I compare it to to the cost of past visits to the gunsmith for trigger jobs. But if you're handy- consider it money saved.
