Interesting, learned something new about press checks.
If I were on duty, I'd do it but since targets can't shoot back I don't think it's necessary.
us peasants dont shoot at night in Canada.
Every course i teach/ taught, i always recommend a press check. It just provides that extra reassurance that the firearm is in fact loaded. Firearms are machines and machines dont always funtion 100%. It takes 2 seconds to do. Why not do a chamber check should be the question.
Taking the mag out and checking if 1 round is stripped is faster. and you dont run the risk of having a malfunction since the Tavor has no forward assist.
Do they have a better trigger than the TAR-21?
but in the rest of the world where they don't have our stupid magazine capacity limits it would be kinda hard to remove the mag and see if there is 29 or 30 in the magazine. Probably why instructors from elsewhere find it more valuable.
yeager is the MOST dumbassed FCUKassed IDIOT I have ever watched. I am dumber for seeing that video....
I really hopes he runs himself over with his own truck...
As a Canadian civilian shooter you're 100% right but in the rest of the world where they don't have our stupid magazine capacity limits it would be kinda hard to remove the mag and see if there is 29 or 30 in the magazine. Probably why instructors from elsewhere find it more valuable.
I don't usually check to verify that my rifle actually chambered the first round but I have gone for a first shot and just heard a click. Luckily for me paper and gongs don't shoot back.
Back on track.
Looks like the new rifle also has a different grip angle and much more familiar magazine release location.

The Israeli's are the OCD Lords of combat firearms handling. They check everything, at least twice, every time they even consider doing anything. Check the bolt before you move, check the bolt when you stop moving, check the chamber after you load, check the chamber before, during and after unloading, get up in the middle of the night to check the chamber in case you have to move, in which case check it again. They're good, they're very good, but damn they double check the things they already triple checked. It's like they're either fighting, or checking. Must be exhausting.
