In case y'all missed my X95 and other black rifle pics...

Every course i teach/ taught, i always recommend a press check. It just provides that extra reassurance that the firearm is in fact loaded. Firearms are machines and machines dont always funtion 100%. It takes 2 seconds to do. Why not do a chamber check should be the question.

Hmm ! Never touch to press check a AR15, usually pull the mag out and check if one is missing, well ! Where it goes to. The pistol is Yes, press check is always recommend.

After seeing the Canadian X95 version side by side to the Tavor I can't really say I'm itching to buy one.

The barrel length and ugly forend just don't work for me.

This on the other hand.....Obviously restricted but I'd still love one.

Interesting, learned something new about press checks.
If I were on duty, I'd do it but since targets can't shoot back I don't think it's necessary.

Because doing so might induce more malfunctions.

Taking the mag out and checking if 1 round is stripped is faster. and you dont run the risk of having a malfunction since the Tavor has no forward assist.

As a Canadian civilian shooter you're 100% right but in the rest of the world where they don't have our stupid magazine capacity limits it would be kinda hard to remove the mag and see if there is 29 or 30 in the magazine. Probably why instructors from elsewhere find it more valuable.
I don't usually check to verify that my rifle actually chambered the first round but I have gone for a first shot and just heard a click. Luckily for me paper and gongs don't shoot back.

Back on track.
Looks like the new rifle also has a different grip angle and much more familiar magazine release location.
Do they have a better trigger than the TAR-21?

yeager is the MOST dumbassed FCUKassed IDIOT I have ever watched. I am dumber for seeing that video....

The new X95 pack looks pretty close to a Gieselle :) So once I get mine I might be selling my Tav-D if the factory X95 pull is under 4 lbs with LB

IWI USA is selling the X95 pack for 199$ if you want one for teh Tar 21 but thats seem quite expensive.

HUH? On a fully loaded AR magazine, the first round is on the right. Once the round goes into the chamber and you eject the magazine to check, the first round is on the left.

There arw multiple ways to check if a round chambered. I personally dont care what some dude on the interner says about doing chamber check. Everyone has an opinion and mine is that its better to do one and be 100% sure than relying on mechanical funtion. I have never had a round NOT FIRE from a weapon after conducting a chamber check.

I cant recall ever having a click instead of a bang on an empty chamber, I do recall have a click instead of a bang on a chambered round tho ! ( cheap bulk ammo ). Maybe I should test my primers beforehand to make sure they go off ? lol....

Know your weapons system in and out, that way when you insert a fresh mag you know the difference from a bolt closing on an empty chamber or the bolt chambering a round. same as when the bolt locks back on a empty mag. but thats a debate for another day. I never let my mags run dry. I reload before that happens. and with only 15 rounds in a mag it's not hard to keep count.

Is he really that big of an idiot? He probably makes more money a month than most of us make in a year and all he does is groom his tactical beard and play with guns all day.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't pay him to teach me anything but he's definitely playing the game better than we are.

Striping the mag for a press check Isnt checking how many rounds is in the mag. On double stack systems you first pay attention to if the top round is on the left or right side. After you load strip the mag and the top round should now be on the other side.

Rifle magazines are typically double stack. Take note of what side the top round is on. If it's on the left, you rack the rifle, pop the mag and the top round is now on the right, you're good.

I love my Tavor but my biggest criticism is the lack of forward assist. Yeah, you CAN press check if it's clean in a reasonably sterile environment, that bolt will PROBABLY return to battery correctly. Probably.
I took the Tavor course and like with every course I go to, I defer entirely to the instruction because I'm there to learn, and I'll decide after the fact if I'm going to keep a method or ditch it after giving it a fair shake. I even had a magpul single point that I ditched for the IDF sling attached with paracord loops because it was more appropriate to the methodology (and I ended up kinda liking it!)

I did press checks because that's what was instructed. And I had one instance where the gun "clicked" on me after a press check. If it won't reliably return to battery in a square range, which it won't sometimes, I wouldn't trust it to return to battery anywhere else either. Now I recognize that that's a fluke occurrence, but it's got no forward assist to negate that low chance like an AR does.

As much as I think Yeager is a blowhard who likes to puff out his chest for show and I wouldn't take an actual course with him, a lot of his "information" videos are spot on and worth consideration, and this is one of them. With pistols the difference in feel is very noticeable even for an amateur, and with rifles there are better ways of checking.

The Israeli's are the OCD Lords of combat firearms handling. They check everything, at least twice, every time they even consider doing anything. Check the bolt before you move, check the bolt when you stop moving, check the chamber after you load, check the chamber before, during and after unloading, get up in the middle of the night to check the chamber in case you have to move, in which case check it again. They're good, they're very good, but damn they double check the things they already triple checked. It's like they're either fighting, or checking. Must be exhausting.

gun must go bang when people 20x your numbers want to exterminate you.
cant blame them.
