shooting without the rifle ...
I doubt anybody has received their full rifle yet.
I ordered within the first hour and got my scope today, the rest is scheduled for next Tuesday.

Plugged batteries in, and can barely see the crosshairs! Atleast that’s what I’ve heard. Got me worried for no reason, hope that he just got a lemon.
Guys on the FB Type 81 enthusiasts group have already.... so far the word of the evening is: mediocre.
It’s possible it might not be a daylight bright illumination? I am not familiar with this exact scope but some reticles do not light up super bright as others.
It has to be dark out (sunset-night-sunrise) to see the illumination. Unlike whats often portrayed in movies and video games the SVD reticle illumination was definitely designed for low light situations only.
wood is darker than i thought which is great.
Mine is just fine.
I had one of my SKS out last week and thought there is something wrong with the scope, it is just the sun being very low in the afternoon. That was a 1K AR scope.
A bunch of true gunnutz. I left the group, it's hurting.
I wouldnt be surprised if this gun sees a lot of second guessing from people who got a kick out of the look and ordered, but had at the same time never shouldered and fired anything remotely similar to it before. A red rifle culture shock in a way haha especially for those so accustomed to NATO setups.
